Hi there bees,
I’m struggling to find a good option for my rehearsal dinner in Charleston, SC. I initially wanted to have a casual but classy low-country boil and have my inlaws rent a beach house for the week. Problem is, we can’t find any vacation rentals close to the wedding venue (Wide Awake Park) so I’m coming to terms with the fact that I need a plan B.
All of the restaurants that I am seeing reccomended are either WAY too expensive or too formal for what I had in mind (besides Sticky fingers, I’m NOT a fan). I need a place that can accomodate a little less than 30 people and ideally be less than $1500 for food and drinks. I’m willing to give up the low-country boil concept but I still want to keep the low-country/Charleston theme as far as the food goes and have space for us to mingle, drink, laugh and relax. Nothing too swanky but a little nicer atmosphere than flip flops and t-shirts.
We did eat at Southend brewery last week and one of their spaces may be perfect but I haven’t found any kind of pricepoint beyond their menu and I wasn’t blown away by my crab cake sandwhich, but then again I shouldn’t judge a restaurant’s food off one dish so it’s my only option right now.
So bee’s, I know people love Charleston’s food- give me some input on your favorite, non-swanky, restaurants!
