No - you should be in the clear but get travel insurance just in case : (5 votes)

Definitely yes - I would find a different location for your honeymoon : (0 votes)

I only just moved here, but I’d say SC doesn’t really get hit with hurricanes a lot from what I know.  Are you more worried about rain in general?  I would be more worried about how hot and humid it is in August in the Deep South!

@idolina:  I LOVE Charleston and it’s the reason I left my born-and-raised NYC and moved to SC.  It’s a very charming city.  However, if my wedding date was set in the summer, I would probably consider Maine or something.

I came here and to the GA area once in end of May and once in mid-August and both times it wasn’t that much hotter/more humid than it was in NY.  However, end of May isn’t really hot to begin with.  And the time I came in mid-August, everyone was saying that they had been hit with a “cool wave” and that it was much cooler than normal.  *shrug*  I went to Riviera Maya, Mx in August and I was able to deal with that.  I’ve been to the Bahamas in June and didn’t think it was that hot either.  Personally, I enjoy the heat and I think I am accustomed to it, but everyone says I have yet to experience a real summer in the South and that I will be singing a different tune soon.

If I wanted Charleston badly, I would consider October/November or April/May.  If I wanted August badly, I would consider heading up North.

ETA:  I completely misread your title.  Sorry, it’s been a very long week and I’m tired.  I thought you wanted your WEDDING in Charleston.  I just kept thinking about your hair and makeup melting away.  Your honeymoon in Charleston will probably be perfect.  It will be hot, nice for the beach, nice to go around.  I think it is hotter than the Caribbean, but if you want it hot, you shouldn’t be too miserable!  If you want to do NE, I would save that for the Fall.

@idolina:  You’re welcome!  Expect it to be around 90-100 and VERY humid.  That’s what people are telling me.  At least Charleston is on the shore, so I think it SHOULD be cooler.  The best meal I ever had was a Low Country Boil in a Charleston restaurant (Do you like seafood?? If so, make sure to get this!).
