I love James Avery, but I realize that’s more of a regional (Texas) thing.

i think the best charm bracelets are the ones you create yourself. I had one when I was younger, my mom started it by giving me the bracelet with a single charm.

The funnest part is finding charms from different places you visit, or while shopping and you find the perfect charms that represent different parts of you! some may be more inexpensive than others and you can get the expensive special ones for exciting reasons, like your anniversary or new baby! maybe even as a gift from someone.

I personally am in love juicy couture charm bracelets. They have soo many gorgeous charms and cute ones too. Bad thing is, they can get pretty pricey! Up to 70.00 each charm. Oh well, it makes for a nice once in a while treat! πŸ™‚

I love charm bracelets too but I don’t think I honestly have the patience to complete one over years. Since you mentioned liking the Pandora style, if you go on Etsy you can find a ton of already completed and loose beads for an amazing price. I know you can get finished ones for around $25.

I might post links for you later if I get the time. But please tell us your pick cause I’d love to know what you find.

@Drums: Yeah they have awesome charms! There charms are extremely detailed as well. You can get a starter bracelet from them for like 35.00 if your lucky. I personally though would get a basic starter bracelet from somewhere else and add your own charms because they juicy one is cute but I don’t think I’d pay 40.00 just for a plain silver starte..You might be able to get a silver or gold starter from craigslist though! I got my juicy starter for 10.00 of off craigslist! Score! Definitely shop around! πŸ™‚ I have a juicy charm bracelet and I have about 5 charms! Every time I go to San Francisco I get a new one from the Juicy Store. It’s exciting πŸ™‚

Good luck on finding a charm bracelet! Definitely keep us posted with whatever you decide to buy!

@Drums: Check the Bridge jewelry dept of Macy’s. They have sterling silver charm bracelets and a small selection of charms to get you going. I would also look at piercing pagoda if I was already in the mall πŸ™‚

I’ve ordered charm bracelets for a few of my friends when they had babies and I ordered from BLue Nile.  They have a few charms (and engravable ones) but the bracelets and the charms really exceeded my expectations.  I really thought they were beautiful.  You can always add charms as you go – most destinations have charms.  Or, you can order the proper charm off etsy or ebay.  I love to get charms wherever I got , but I love mismatchy things.

@Drums: they have a wedding ring charm, an engagement ring charm, several hearts, one heart that says eternity, a bottle of champagne, a just married charm…click the link, then click charm club, then click charms and you will be able to see all the charms πŸ™‚ Hope that helps
