I’ve never heard of a charm cake before.  Do you have any more info about what it is?

we are going to do this at my shower and I have seen it done a couple times before.  I think I am going to bake a bundt cake and stick the charms in the icing on top.  I bought a set of fifteen charms from ebay.  I have six bridesmaids and four jr. bridesmaids, and a lot of the charms are more appropriate for older girls, like ones about having a baby or traveling soon, so I haven’t yet figured out how to stop the younger girls from picking those charms maybe different colored ribbon?  anyway, I love this idea and I know its always a hit with everyone at the shower!

I actually was the bridesmaid in a wedding where the bride did this for us at the wedding.  She had the charms placed underneath the bottom tier of the wedding cake.  It was the coolest thing!  I pulled out a heart charm which meant I was getting married next.

Well, that was back in 1997 and as you can see I didn’t get married that quickly.

I still have the charm though. Smile

My sister-in-law had a charm cake for her bridal party when she married my brother. I had never even heard of one before, or since then, and that was over 8 years ago. I loved it! Very cool, fun thing.

I love that idea!! If I ever throw a baby shower I wanna do that! Get charms for mom and baby! How does it exactly work though for a wedding? Do the charms goto the guests or bride and groom?

My sister had a charms in her wedding cake for the bridesmaids to pull out. It was cute. I think her cake bakery did it as a special bonus. There were ribbons attached to the charms and each charm had a different “fortune” associated with it.
