I actually had the same question! I decided to stop and just enjoy my bfp:) Originally I wanted to continue so that I wouldn’t get caught off guard if anything happened, but I think it would stress me out more than anything.

EDIT: Did you get your bfp wednesday? If so, I did too:D

I stopped after my BFP. It’s actually nice to sleep in a little without my alarm going off at 6 am every single day, even weekends!!! 🙂 Plus, I’m a lot more tired already and I am waking up to pee at night. So I appreciate not having to interrupt my sleep another time to take my temperature.

I found it more stressful to keep going.

@carmel bride: Yes, I know that feeling very well. During the TWW I was so nervous before each temp. I tested yesterday too, but I think I’ll wait a week before I test again just so that I can enjoy it more and not stress out if the line isn’t dark enough  compared to the previous hpt’s in my eyes.

Not pregnant, but I have read a lot of postings similar to this one and the advice always seems to be the same– STOP TEMPING! Hormones fluctuate a lot during pregnancy, and hormones can have a direct affect on temperature. Continuing to temp will likely just cause you undue anxiety or stress. Save yourself and your baby the anxiety and enjoy your pregnancy.

And CONGRATULATIONS!

I did for a MONTH, and it was a mistake and sign of being totally neurotic.  I recommend stopping after your BFP.

ETA: My post BFP temp did not fluctuate more than .2 degrees F unless I went to bed with wet hair.

I did a couple of times because I was anxious and wanted to make sure my temp was still up, but it’s actually recommended that you stop once you get your BFP. It causes anxiety if you see any little shift and it’s really not necessary–so enjoy a little extra sleep!

I’m going to temp until 18dpo.  When I had my chemical I temped and I saw it happen, my temp dropped like a rock (on 14dpo).  It still sucked, but it eased the shock a tiny bit when AF showed.  Since the FAM method confirms after 17 high temps, I figure that’s what I’ll go with.

@carmel bride: Yeah, it should stay above for 17 days, although I’ve seen a lot of people where they’ll have a random low temp which is nothing to worry about.  I think it all depends on how you manage stress.  If it’s more stressful to see temps fluctuate, then don’t do it.  But if you need as much info as possible…do it.  Congrats by the way!

Yes, and I wish I hadn’t. It was undue stress I really didn’t need.

Not having to chart every morning is one of the perks to being pregnant Smile
