MrsMellyBean :  Thank you!! I’ve been debating if I want to roll call on the January POAS thread, since my POAS date might be January 31st if everything goes according to plan, but I’m holding off for now. I at least want to wait until I get my new pack of [email protected] tests so I can see if they detect any hcg still!

ladyvictoria :  I always feel a bit better once I’ve researched everything I possibly can. Even then, I still find myself researching the same things over and over to make sure I didn’t miss anything. It’s Tuesday now, so you don’t have too much longer to wait!

hopfenn :  It definitely helped to see how things played out for other couples in our shoes instead of being totally clueless! I even found a great group for couples dealing with male factor infertility. Most of them have ended up doing ISCI/IVF. While I’m not opposed to that route, I’m hoping we can conceive in a less invasive way!

ladyvictoria :  Maybe I missed it, but what was the result of his second SA? Also, sorry about all the anxiety this is dredging up. TTC is anxiety prone enough let alone adding complications and surprises like you’ve had. It’s totally normal to be feeling anxiety with everything you’ve been through and are going through now. This quote helped me during TTC this summer when it was taking longer than I wanted/hoped, maybe it will help you too in the middle of this challenge. “This hard thing you’re in the middle of is not your forever story. It’s merely your right now saga. Keep turning the pages.”

MrsFairyBee :  You didn’t miss anything, we have to wait until his appointment on Friday to get the results of his second and third SA along with the blood work and ultrasound.

That’s a great quote! It’s hard to feel optimistic. 2018 really wasn’t the best year for us, so I feel like we’ve had a dark cloud looming over us for a while and then all of our frustrations with TTC only made it worse. I’m hoping that we’re close to closing this chapter and starting a happier one.

Happy New Year bees! Congrats to the pregnancies, sorry for the losses, and I hope we all get good blessings this year!

AFM, I tried “chilling out” last month and not really temping or OPKing and we ended up only BDing once, and of course not pregnant. So I think the chill method is not going to work for me/us. So I’m back to charting properly this month, and going to try BD EOD from CD 8 until after O is confirmed. This will be cycle 8 but I feel like we haven’t really been able to try very hard. I want to try and give things their best shot because I’m waiting for my annual exam in August to bring up any fertility concerns. I’m also going to try living life normally during the TWW (like drink til it’s pink, etc) because the stress of “pretending” to be pregnant every TWW is really stressing me out. If we don’t get pregnant in 2019 then we’ll plan a big trip in 2020! I’ve decided to postpone other life things in favor of TTCing for this year only. I just really don’t want this process to take over my entire 30’s, if we can’t have kids naturally then we probably just won’t.

Anyways, thanks for reading and I hope 2019 grants us best wishes in our favor!

hopfenn :  That’s a good plan. Have you gotten your tests yet? Are they monitoring your betas? XO

ladyvictoria : I’m so glad you’ve found a group to confide in and discuss treatment options with others who have gone through the same. I hope that it’s a good resource for you. Tomorrow is the big day! Hope you guys get some good news.

MrsFairyBee :  That’s a beautiful quote!

redroses76 :  That sounds like a wonderful plan for the new year. Which CD are you now? I’m like you, going with the flow/taking it easy does not exist with this TTC process for me. I’m either not TTC or obssessed lol. Hope that you get your BFP soon, but the living life normally while in the TWW is a really good way to go about things.

bananasareyellow :  How are you doing friend? I’ve been chart stalking. Looks like you’ve had some great betas! Any upcoming scans? XO

MrsMellyBean :  Had my appointment today! Doctor said there was no reason to do any more blood tests so they won’t be monitoring my betas. He said they recommend waiting one full cycle before TTC, but then I asked if there are any risks to trying right away and he said that there are none at all, and if we really want to we can go ahead right away. It was a bit of a mixed answer, but good enough for me! We’ll be trying again as soon as I ovulate. Hopefully my hormones go back to normal and I ovulate soon! 🙂

hopfenn :  awww bee, I snuck a quick look at my FF friends list, and was so bummed to see your chart pop back up. I’m really sorry that happened to you but it sounds like you’re doing ok. I’m really looking forward to you getting a sticky baby next time, and giving those of us that have experienced similar loss high hopes.

MrsMellyBean :  Hey thanks for thinking of me! I’ve been staying off the boards as it just makes it that much harder to distract myself lol. Trying to focus on work and having fun with hubby so the months don’t drag by too slowly. Hope you’ve been able to enjoy things so far this year!

I did start up my prenatals but was getting some super weird side effects – pinching and pain throughout my whole lower abdomen, totally freaked me out. I stopped taking them and it’s mostly subsided. Not sure if it’s a coincidence – I took the same vitamins for months last year. So now I’m trying to decide what to do with the rest of the pills, of course I bought a gigantic pack. Ugh. I may try only taking half a pill a day and see how that makes me feel.

I’m out for this month and not very surprised given my temping failure and bad timing with travelling etc. Hoping to do better at temping this cycle! I need to travel again but my husband is looking at whether he can come with me.

jbirdlee1015 :  Thank you! We’re really looking forward to trying again and hoping for that sticky baby this time! We’ve discussed incorporating a rainbow theme into the future nursery, which seems like a nice idea 🙂 I’m happy that my cycle seems to be doing okay so far. My temps are low and I used a HPT today and it was negative, so I’m hoping the hcg is mostly all cleared out now!

ladyvictoria :  Thanking of you today! I have my fingers crossed for the results of your husband’s test and hoping everything goes super well. Update us when you can!

I’m trying to wrap my mind around the news we got today. My husband got the results of his SAs, ultrasound, blood work, and urinalysis (didn’t know about that part before) and he is not producing sperm. His FSH is elevated and he has bilateral varicoceles, which will require surgery. His urologist referred him to a specialist at a local infertility and IVF center. It’s considered a “center of excellence” so for insurance purposes, we’ll get the most coverage there if we need IVF or IUI.

He looked so upset when he got back from the appointment. It was really crushing for the both of us. I don’t want him to feel like he’s letting me down and I told him he doesn’t owe me an apology for anything, but I know that he still feels guilty. I stayed home from work (AF got me this morning, to add insult to injury) and spent time with him until he left for a meeting. And we’ll be getting out together later to take our minds off of it. I’m just hoping that we can be helped.

hopfenn :  That’s fantastic! Glad to hear it. I know I got mixed messages as well as far as waiting goes. I think you should just do what you’re comfortable with and what feels right. FX for a normal, easy cycle!!

jbirdlee1015 :  That’s more than fair. It’s so easy to get caught up in all things TTC on these boards! That’s so strange about your prenatal. I hope it was just a coincidence!

sensoda :  That’s so tough. Hopefully your Darling Husband can tag along so you can get some good timing. How long are you away for this time?

bananasareyellow :  Aww yay! Can’t wait to hear your update on Monday! How far along are you now 6 & 2ish?

ladyvictoria :  I’m sorry love, that must have been rough for both of you to hear. Sending you hugs. Is there medication to reduce his FSH levels? Hoping that with the surgery it helps! Can they do TESE while doing the embolization?

ladyvictoria :  I am really sorry to read this news but at least you have some answers and can start looking to the way forward: at least for me uncertainty can be one of the hardest things to endure. Hoping he can get in for surgery quickly and you can get back to your TTC journey.

bananasareyellow :  Exciting! Waiting for good news!

MrsMellyBean :  When do you switch from TTA to TTC? How are you feeling about it?

As for me, probably ~2 weeks until my first TTC cycle! Sometimes I wonder if we are crazy doing this (particularly on days when my daughter is a handful!) but I am also excited. Just hoping for a smooth journey.
