MsPlucky :  Very well written! Your son sounds like an awesome little dude! He may be ready to try doing things on his own, but he’s always going to need his mama ♥

That’s a super positive OPK! Go BD asap! But I also second what SeaOfLove said – I would use an HPT just to see!

SeaOfLove :  I did this morning because I got my BFP with my son on 9DPO (but at 9:30pm) and it was negative. I don’t know, I find it crazy with all of my symptoms that I didn’t ovulate, some are identical to my son, but it’s probably all in my head.

I was only 6DPO, so part of me of course is like “but I mean, maybe it was too early” but it should be more than 0.5, so… it’s probably accurate.

I’m 9 DPO based on my original suspected O date, 4 DPO based on when Candy11 thinks I ovulated, or I haven’t ovulated yet based on the OPK.

Just over here extending the TWW by a week.. three week wait we go!

MsPlucky :  That was so beautiful to read! You summed everything up perfectly. And that opk is sooo positive!! Here’s to hoping you ovulate for sure in the next couple of days! Yay!

Hi Bees!

I wanted to update you all about my TTC plans as I haven’t been around much lately… after taking a break for one month after my MMR vaccine we’ve just passed the 1 year point since we started TTC. I ended up going back to school after we started trying; at the time we planned to keep trying and I would apply for a deferral for a year if I got pregnant. Now that I’m 8 months into my studies we’ve been talking about TTA for a while until I’m closer to the end. Before I just couldn’t stand the idea of waiting to TTC (I’m not getting any younger!), but now I think about how inconvenient it would be to get pregnant in the middle of my studies and have to wait a year to finish my degree (plus pay for daycare for the remaining months of study). At the same time, we have not been successful in getting pregnant yet and don’t want to wait too long. I just turned 32 and Darling Husband is 35, and having a baby is the biggest priority for both of us. We have an appointment with an RE in a couple of weeks and I am hoping for a more thorough assessment of both of us and a better idea of the outlook for us going forward. But right now I’m leaning towards TTA until August 2020. I talked to Darling Husband about it today; I was worried he would be disappointed but he is on board and agrees it would make more sense in the longterm. If only we could know the future and how much longer our TTC journey will be! We might reconsider after our RE appointment, but I’m feeling relieved right now to wait. I was feeling a lot of anxiety about TTC again, both because of possible disappointment at more BFNs and also anxiety about a BFP which would be wonderful but with difficult timing. Anyways, I thought I’d post an update and I’m wishing you all the best of luck!

candy11 :  I totally missed this! Sorry! My temp went up a bit yesterday morning, which was a surprise. We’ll see what happens tomorrow! I’m not really holding my breath, but maybe I’ll get a lovely surprise!

We started weaning about 6 months ago. I got mastitis 9 times over our 21 month breastfeeding journey, so we’ve been working towards this for quite a while. It’s just that final step that I was finding hard, but I think we’re about there. He didn’t nurse at all yesterday, nor did he ask at all, so I know that he’s done. So far I haven’t felt full or engorged, so hoping that continues. I leave for 5 days in 2 days, so I’m happy to see I’m not dying after 1 missed session. So far so good and I think emotionally, I’m okay. I’m sure it’ll hit me like a ton of bricks here soon with the final hormone drop, but every journey must come to an end!

rosabelle :  I’m glad you and your husband have made the decision that’s best for you! I really hope you get some answers at your RE appointment and can gameplan better from there. Just be prepared – when the timing is the worst, babies appear! It’s a bittersweet twist of fate!

rosabelle :  I’m so glad you’re feeling good about your decision right now.  I would still love to hear about how your RE appointment goes.  I am really wishing you luck with everything… school, your TTC decisions, and your fertility.  I hope you get your BFP at the perfect moment <3

MsPlucky :   stellate23 :  Thank you ladies for being so lovely and supportive! It’s a bittersweet decision for sure with lots of mixed emotions. I’m relieved to know I will be able to finish school on time and optimistic about trying again, but August sure feels far away. I’ll update after we meet our RE on the 15th for sure; we’ve been making a list of questions to ask. It feels so strange moving forward by seeing a fertility specialist while at the same time deciding to pause TTC. Ugh.

This thread is quiet!!

Does anyone have experience with progesterone suppositories? I’m thinking of starting them at 3dpo this cycle. My RE said to start them after a BFP but he also said I could start them earlier if I was temping to confirm O. I kind of want to do that, but I’m afraid of how it might mess up my cycle if I don’t get a BFP. This would be my first time trying this. I’m not sure why I’m so nervous!

candy11 :  My RE said once I get a BFP, but he also said that’s because taking it before you O accidentally will prevent O from happening. So then he said I can do it once I have 3 sustained higher temperatures to confirm O and basically left it up to me!

Crazy that it looks close to positive on CD12. Mine did that to me on CD10 once but then it went back to being negative hahah. I normally don’t O until ~CD16 as well. I would BD just in case though!
