ruby26:  LOL I feel so doofy because I saw “the city” and just assumed you meant NYC! Whomp whomp. And I’ve only been a New Yorker for like 2 years!!

    PonytailKim:  Beautiful line! Congrats, mama!!

BeverlyGeese:  Thanks, lady! That would be TOO CRAZY if you got a BFP this cycle! I’m not sure if I should keep my fingers crossed for you or not, haha, since I assume you want to get this chicken pox thing done first. Maybe you could just avoid children for like 9 months..? ๐Ÿ˜‰ I am super Type A too, which is obvs why I love charting so much. It literally blows my mind that there are people who are just like, “It’ll happen when it happens!” haha.

Feist:  Holy crap, what a rollercoaster! I am so glad that your RE wants to get things moving and SO SORRY that they can’t quite start yet. I’m assuming it’s a follicular cyst that didn’t rupture after the Clomid? MFer!! But I’m excited for the HSG and SA and possibly thyroid meds coming up for you. (I tested this morning, lol, and BFN of course. I’m probably just going to keep testing every day, don’t want to be shocked by AF if she arrives early.)

howsweetitis:  Yeah I didn’t get an ultrasound pre-clomid but my estradiol was 15 before starting progesterone so, i don’t think I could have had much going on! The nurse said it looked like a functional cyst so I’m thinking the clomid grew it but it never triggered! If I’d had a monitored cycle they probably could have triggered it!!! Gah. And I totally refer to nyc as “the city” still even though I live 6 hours away now! When I interviewed at my grad school in CT the professors were talking about an exhibit in “the city” and I was thinking “what city? Do they mean New York? New Haven? Hartford?” lol I didn’t ask and guessed they meant nyc, later learned they mostly lived there and commuted to teach.

Ahhhh the plot thickens! My estradiol came back at 30. Which means the cyst isnt making estrogen anymore. Which means I can take the letrozole. We will be on vacation next week so probably no IUI this cycle but a fun vacation ๐Ÿ™‚

Feist:  What a crazy update! Sounds like we are going to be on similar protocol coming up. Fx that this kicks your body into gear and you aren’t waiting much longer for your bfp. Did you have any monitoring done prior to Clomid? I’m curious because it would be interesting to see if you have had it for awhile and it was interfering with producing follicles on that ovary of good quality.

howsweetitis:  Haha! I think that thought every time I read about someone just going with it or ntnp. Charting is perfect for my control factor, it gives me just enough information to feel in charge of TTC. Although, now that doesn’t matter so much! And yeah, ha, I am not sure if I should be excited or freaked out to test. I honestly would be a little pissed considering I got a vaccine that is deemed unsafe during pregnancy and then took bcp for 2 weeks. Lol! And it was the doctors advice, which I feel like could be an issue if birth defects or pregnancy related issues were to arise.

BeverlyGeese:  I didn’t have monitoring prior to clomid but my estradiol was 15 so if it was there it wasn’t active. The nurse was really surprised he said to go ahead with it, I’m a little nervous because I won’t be in town from day 8-15 so we’ll see what happens! I thought of you today bc my doc asked if I ever had chicken pox, but didn’t do a titer, but he did do a titer for rubella. Funny how idiosyncratic it seems to be. When do you get your titer/start the Femara? I start mine tomorrow.

Feist:  So, we are living parallel lives! I plan to stop bcp on July 3/4 to try and induce CD 1 for July 8, the same day I can get the retest of the titer. I should know within a day if it is positive for immunity, and if so I will start monitoring/femara around July 10. We leave for vacation on the 18th, so also cannot do IUI this first cycle (given all goes well with the vaccine). If all goes well, I should be able to trigger the night before we leave or one of the first few nights of our vacation, following up with progesterone until the end of my cycle. Clearly if I’m still negative, I need to get the second vaccine and go back on bcp until we get home from our trip. Will you not be monitored a second time on femara, then? I assume you will just be doing femara with no trigger, and continue to chart/ if you don’t see a rise, go back in after you return home? I felt great on femara, fwiw! I also have the 5mg protocol. I have a good feeling for you!

Feist:  And yea, I think every practice is different with what they want. My friend went to my same RE and has said numerous times how particular and “safe” they were. I’m not allowed to drink or exercise more than walking a few hours/week even on my protocol. Most likely they are trying to have the best outcome and keep their success rates high, which I respect. It still sucks to be in hiatus tho!
