BeverlyGeese:  I’m sorry that you are having to deal with all of this, but it’s great that you have a good plan.  FX so hard for you that you can do your IUI cycles!

AF came… I am sad that this month wasn’t it… We are now going into our 6th cycle trying, and fourth regulated cycle since coming off BC. I know in the grand scheme of things that isn’t long at all but it’s hard not to feel panicky when it seems clear that we’re timing things so well and I am ovulating. DH is going to get a SA done so maybe that will shed some light on things. He was diagnosed with type 1 diabeties as an adult and I worry that could contribute. I had my first sad day yesterday since starting TTC as I swear 10 of my FB friends all announced their pregnancies. BLAH.

Feist:  I totally forgot about this but the same thing happened to me, and I was told the same (since Femara is an aromatase inhibitor). RE said he cared more about follie size for monitoring, as a result. But, like you, I read mixed things as to whether E2 should be completely discarded or still had some predictive value. I got pregnant though and I totally believe in Femara over Clomid … anyway, good luck tmrw. Hope things turn around.

theshannondee:So sorry! I swear, it seems like everyone else’s pregnancy announcements come on the saddest TTC days. You are not alone! But I know it’s not much consolation. Thinking of you and hoping your DH’s SA comes back great!

rjay:  That’s encouraging! Do you remember your numbers? 32 just seems REALLY low. I’m so anxious for tomorrow afternoon.

theshannondee:  I’m sorry about AF and all the pregnancy announcements. I found out today that my friend just gave birth to her second. It’s so hard to hear people progressing when you have bad news, feeling left behind, even when you are thrilled for them.

Hey gals, hope everyone’s week is going ok! I am having such a moment … trying to take it one step at a time but we have been dealing with some complicated decisions (long story I am too worn out to explain) and I’m in the middle of getting in-depth thyroid and rheumatology work-ups during our “break,” just to be extra cautious due to some previous symptoms, wanting to cross all the t ‘s/dot all the i’s before IVF. Medical endo is re-testing me for Cushings, running TPO and ANA antibodies, etc. Now I have to see a hematologist next week bc I’ve had unexplained slightly elevated platelets for years and she’s concerned about it. I am praying they won’t order a bone marrow biopsy. It has been a hopeful few weeks but I’ve got AF cramps that brought me to my knees, and calling a medical practice with the name Oncology in its title just made me suddenly feel terrified. I know it’s better to be safe than sorry, just a bit of a rough day and feeling slightly pathetically self-pitying that the month off seems to have turned into constant specialist appointments – I am grateful for everything and everyone that helped us get this far, just having a moment of fear, I guess, at the enormity of some of the IVF decisions. Anyway, thanks for all the awesome encouragement you’ve all been sending my way!

Feist: So I looked up my notes from my first Femara (and BFP) cycle – E2 was 85 on CD 12, with 17.9 and 16.4mm follicles. They stopped monitoring it after that bc I started Estrace suppositories. But it goes to show that you could have an E2 under 100 even with 2 potentially viable, almost mature follicles that resulted in BFP. The next cycle I took Femara but then Injectibles and all my values were crazy bc of the M/C so my E2 would be utterly unreliable to compare. Hope this kinda sorta anecdotally helps ๐Ÿ™‚ In some ways I think monitoring for people like you and me is especially awesome and empowering, to have the info and apply research to it, learn our own fluctuations, and understand the medical decision- making pros and cons. Generally, I’d rather have the info, so I took to recording my monitoring stats in FF notes. But in other ways, I think it can be torture – this moment for you being an example. I had many similar days. I am hoping I will be able to step back a bit during the IVF process so I don’t derail it with stress, so my strategy has been to front load my research during the waiting period … visions of me doing yoga and accupuncture this time next month, smiling serenely like Buddha when DH gets on my nerves or puppy has an accident, while levitating from my deep zen-ness … LOL. A girl can dream! So, rooting for you and looking forward to some good news from you later today. I think the added pressure of due date deadlines can really be tough and I very much relate as I had similar types of milestone dates or practical deadlines in mind almost every cycle. I’m sorry you’re up against that feeling and a possible break. You’re doing beautifully, one day at a time! Hugs.

Hi ladies! I’ve been following along on my phone as this reno is really picking up steam and I was going to respond to everyone this morning but our wireless is terrible and the reply box won’t even load on my computer, so I’ll have to catch up later. (This after I spent an hour and a half on the phone with comcast trying to fix it on Monday… I’m so over it).

Just wanted to say that I’m lurking and am hopeful for some good news in here pretty soon! Sending positive thoughts to everyone!

rjay:  Thanks, friend. I’m loling at the image of zen you levitating amidst chaos, I guess it goes to the cliché, astronomically false saying, “shoot for the moon, even if you miss you’ll land among the stars.” I think if my one good looking follicle were on my other ovary I would be calmer about it. But my CM went from very sticky on Monday to more creamy/wet so that’s a good sign! 2pm can’t come soon enough.

Feist:  Glad to hear the reno is trucking along! Can’t wait to see more pictures!

AFM, 9 DPO here and anxiously waiting for AF to get here (when she’s supposed to of course). You will only hear me say that during one more TWW! Today is 40 days (more or less) until the start of my TTC cycle and 42 days till DH is home! ๐Ÿ˜Š

My e2 was 50, my “follicle” shrank and my lining went from 5.3 to 2.8, so I’m basically where I should be at menstruation. Dr. Said sometimes the body “learns” a medicine and then ignores it, so my great response on Femara cycle 1 and poor response on Femara cycle 2 makes sense. He would up the Femara and do another IUI cycle. But, at last IUI, the nurse told me DH’s numbers weren’t great but they were good for IUI. Well, actually they were very much borderline, almost too low for IUI. Everything was good except his motility which was very bad. So he is getting a full SA this week and if they dont improve we may need to consider moving more quickly to IVF.
