BeverlyGeese:  Hah, I get that. We had a moderate turnout of 120ish at our wedding, and approximately 100 of that was family on my side. DH’s extended family is about 15 lol. He puts up with a lot. We did have an appointment Wednesday but we had to cancel it becuase we found out that DH’s previous urologist is Tier 2 on our insurance, or in other words $200 per appointment! We scheduled an appointment the same week with the U of M RE’s office as soon as we figured this out. We needed to get DH into that office anyways, since odds are we’re doing IVF and our insurance only covers it with that particular clinic.

Feist:  thanks. I just wanted to be sure. You never know exactly how you come off, so much gets lost in text sometimes.

Hi from Iceland, my loves! I’m sorry not to see any great news here, but I’m checking in when I can and especially stalking @Aqualov and any TWWers. @Feist, so so sorry about the Femara no longer working. Sending hugs all around!

BeverlyGeese:  Looks like we are no longer cycle buddies.  Womp womp…  My bleeding yesterday was so inconsistent and not a full flow, so my nurse said today is day 1. But we are close enough!

Got our results at DH’s appointment this morning. Not good. Latest SA was zero sperm again. DH had some more bloodwork run since the new doc thinks that there’s a small chance it may be obstuction related instead of hormonal, or even both. Either way our next steps are: biopsy for DH to see if he’s making sperm but not releasing them. We have the option to freeze any sperm we get from the first biopsy, but the doctor said its really expensive, so it’s up to us. If he is making sperm, then we can schedule another biopsy to extract the sperm to coincide with an IVF with ICSI cycle. We’ve got some research to do on frozen vs. fresh sperm as well as the biopsy surgery itself. Boo. I can’t say I’m surprised at our luck anymore, but it sucks. Here’s hoping the procedure isn’t too bad and that we can get enough sperm for IVF/ICSI.

FreckledFox: Hey, Fox. Hope there is a tiny bit of comfort/peace in the knowledge that there was no specific cause of the pprom and nothing that could have been done. So glad the high risk specialist was thorough and responsive. I admire your courage and think of and continue to send prayers to you guys. Hope the upcoming appointment proves helpful, too.

Aqualov: Was just stalking for your update. I’m sorry. Can’t imagine how disappointed you must be! Is it any comfort/relief at all to know the plan for moving forward now? I know it’s bad news, just hoping maybe the forward momentum might still feel hopeful and involves less waiting/unknown? How soon can your DH get the biopsy? If you learn anything about frozen v. fresh sperm, I’d love to hear it! I think we will freeze a sample of my DH’s at the end of this month for a backup for future IVF cycles’ ER days. It’s not necessary but doc said sometimes it gives peace of mind/takes pressure off which can reduce stress and, hey, maybe that will help our outcome. I’m sure we won’t need it, we have never so far but I like backup plans for worst-case scenarios, with our luck! We are debating 50/50 ICSI/traditional or 100% ICSI. DH had mostly stellar off-the-charts samples and counts despite historically low T (he’s now on IM shots of HCG every other day, poor guy – to see if T goes up and maybe helps his general health) but 2 samples with questionable motility, so RE recommended the ICSI. I am so torn. Doing 50/50 can be diagnostic and teach useful things for the next cycle if there is one. And there is something to be said for natural selection v. some slightly increased risks that come with ICSI (even that is controversial really). But she’s an absolute expert and I truly trust her judgment. Anyway, perhaps we will be cycling together in a bit here. Hope you and your DH are holding up okay. Keep your chin up – I know it sounds trite but I believe your day is coming, in one sense or another!

howsweetitis: Hope you’re having a fabulous time in Iceland! Send us a picture. I’ll live vicariously πŸ™‚ No big trips for us this summer since we have new puppy, just had an extravagant honeymoon over the winter holidays and were stuck doing a lot of monitoring appointments until this break month. Might try to talk DH into stealing away to the beach a couple nights before I start stims, for a little time alone the two of us. I had a long wknd in Atlanta with my BFF at the end of July. It was interesting bc in the past I’ve felt such longing around my friends’ children. She has a 3 y.o. and 4 week-old. This time was a new experience … I enjoyed the baby and did some night wake ups with her to give my friend a break and all that sort of stuff (my friends know I love kids and my best friends are the kind that will do laundry for each other to help – like real, true, lifelong best friends – they always say I’m the baby whisperer and call me to help them with their new babies πŸ™‚ I love them, of course. But I felt something different, more like – this is so nice and all but all I can really think of is MY baby in my arms! A sort of impatience or watering down of the usual baby effect. Maybe it’s psychologically self-protective … I’m scared to hope! Then again my friends are so excited for me to have babies, they are already trying to score me a KinderPack and other gear LOL (omg she is obsessed with baby wearing and I used to make fun of her but after her teaching me with all her different wraps and SSCs, demonstrating Tulas vs. KPs, making me wear her toddler, ETC, I was totally sold). Anyway, complete tangent… indulge us and post an Iceland pic! Have the best time!!!!!! πŸ™‚

Hi ladies. Sorry I haven’t fully caught up with everyone I just feel so far behind now.

I woke up this morning to a little light brown discharge/cm. Had it with DD and everything turned out ok. Took a couple pregnancy tests to try and ease my mind, I’ve had a nagging feeling since yesterday. They were all negative. Well actually one of the cheapies had a very faint line, but not what it should look like at 22dpo. I called my OB and he’s on vacation but the nurse put an order in for another beta so I just got it done. I should get the results later this afternoon but I’m 99.9% sure it’s another CP. Feeling so defeated. That’s two, 2 months in a row. I sobbed pretty much DD’s entire first nap after taking the tests, there’s no way 3 tests were all wrong. I’ll have final HCG numbers this afternoon, so i’ll update then. Sorry to bring the thread down even more, why can’t I just stay pregnant!!!!!!! UGH. πŸ™

lalalalauren:  I’m so sorry to hear that. That really sucks. Will they do any testing if it is another CP?
