sweettea169: As far as I know the only way to definitely know you ovulated is a progesterone test, but a rising BBT is a proxy for that, since progesterone causes the temp rise. BUT! You said two things that make me feel like it might be a temping problem – you said you get up, pee, go back to sleep and THEN temp later, which could totally affect it, and the fact that your thermometer only goes to tenths instead of hundredths of a degree makes me wonder if it’s truly a basal thermometer, out just a fever thermometer, which would be much less sensitive. If I were you I would make sure I have a basal thermometer, and try temping at 5am before you get up to pee every day. Also, it is not completely impossible for a regular cycler to have an annovulatory cycle now and then – just ask Mrscoyote!

lalalalauren: FX for you! I wouldn’t worry about the drinking. My SIL got wasted on a Sat night at my sis’s bachelorette party and got a surprise BFP Monday morning (they had tried for three years, failed 3 IUI and were on a break from treatment before starting IVf so it was a complete shock!), that sweet baby girl is now 18mo. I had a BFN on a Friday am (DPO 10) so DH and I hit our fave Mexican place and there was tequila, good tequila and he drove home ; ) Sat morning-boom- BFP! No regrets, and baby boy is 31+4wks and healthy!

@sweettea169: I agree with everything mattiek said!! Good advice!!
HeyJude72: thank you for this! I felt really bad after reading that On that other post initially. I’ve been trying to be really realistic with myself that I’m out but AF still hasn’t shown so I’m now a day late. Can’t help but be a little optimistic!!

lalalalauren: Thank you that is still certainly helpful
MrsMellyBean: Thank you, it really has been SO enlightening. I feel like I know so much about my cycles now and my body in general
NewfieBullet: Good to know it’s not just me!

MattieK: wouldn’t it skew higher though if getting up was affecting it? My thermometer is the 3m nexcare bbt one. I’ll look into getting a new one though any suggestions?
also the reason I was waiting til I get up for real (and not doing it when I pee) is because I thought it was more important to do it around the same time? Gah so confusing.

sweettea169: I had the nexcare bbt and it wasn’t great. I have a Mavis one from Amazon now that’s Much better.

MrsMellyBean: Thank you!
TeeVee: A warm welcome to you! My temp has done both a slow decline over the first few days of AF and a few times it doesn’t really drop unitl AF is almost over…
sweettea169: So true! Several of my friends got pregnant their first month off BCP, I’m the only one I know who has resorted to charting and temping :/ Onto month 4 we go!
MattieK: That froyo with raspberries ( & peaches, mango?) looks devine right now!
NewfieBullet: Thanks for starting the new thread!
I know this is the old thread, but I thought I’d catch up a bit from the weekend and I just noticed the new one was up already.
AFM – has anyone here tried Vitex? I just started it a few days ago to help with my short LP (per the internet, so we will see). I was really bummed that we’ve now been trying for 3 months with no luck.
