MrsAKSkier:  We ended up not going! We have to drive about 3 hours to get to the nearest mountain, and we were headed there on our way to a local waterpark. Unfortunately the day we were driving there it was sleeting pretty terribly with crazy painful winds, so the weather was not conducive to being outside at all! Hopefully we can still try one day this winter!

MattieK:  So many RE buddies!!! Hopefully that means we all graduate to due date boards soon!

hogoboom2012:  We did not host Christmas (thank goodness). We did a lowkey New Years party with our parents and some siblings, but our Christmas is a little crazy… Christmas Eve is always with DH’s family at his parents’. My family tends to do Christmas day, but my sister’s girlfriend worked on Christmas, so we waited for a day we could all be together. So we just did Christmas with my family yesterday at my parents’.

MrsMellyBean:  I hope your cycles shorten up soon! Long cycles are the worst!! And I hope the OvaCue works awesome for you… Last night I got the purple box of doom, which basically means that even though it confirmed ovulation for Monday, yesterday my data showed that I may not have ovulated yet or I’m getting ready to ovulate again. UGH. It’s annoying, but I’m happy to have the data to know what’s going on! Rescue dogs are the best!

Feist:  Darling Husband wants to take a road trip similar to yours this summer! We live in Chicago and ours friends in Portland are getting married in July. Darling Husband wants to drive there instead of fly, so we might be taking the north route there through the Black Hills and Yellowstone on our way to Portland. I may be hitting you up for some suggestions!

arielmerms:  The house looks so much cleaner and brighter without the bushes! We spent yesterday at my parents with our dog and my sister’s puppy… I’m not rethinking the puppy idea! Three dogs in the family would be absolute madness.

hogoboom2012:  You really had a fantastic 2015 (TTC aside)!!! And you’re absolutely right about the fact that a cat makes it easier just to get up and go… Darling Husband and I love to travel, and while it’s not usually a problem finding someone to watch our dog, it is another thing we have to worry about and rely on family for. We initally wanted a cat before we got our dog, and that was the pull!

AFM, I may have spoken to soon about having Oed… yesterday my temp dropped below the CL, and then last night my OvaCue gave me the purple box of doom (my name for it) which basically means my body is doing wacky things and may have really tried to ovulate but did not succeed. My coworker who gave this to me basically said the purple box is what caused her doctor to say she needed the big guns (an RE) and she eventually got diagnosed with PCOS, so I’m a little nervous. My temps are way low too, so something is definitely up. So now I’m pretty sure I didn’t O. UGH.

hogoboom2012:  no worries, I knew our chances were basically non-existent this cycle so I wasn’t surprised :). I’m not sure when Darling Husband gets his results from his SA, the clinic has been closed since the day he got the testing and isn’t open again until tomorrow!

ruby26: thanks for your support lady. My OvaCue has been stuck in customs since Thursday, and customs is closed over the weekend so I doubt I’m going to be getting it on time :(. Sorry about the purple box of doom- hoping that you still do O this cycle!!!

AFM, I got my test results back and the doctor that saw me is thinking based on the numbers that I probably have PCOS (my LH to FSH ratio is high). Along with the CD3 testing he gave me the work up for PCOS testing (Androstenedione, DHEAS, & Sex Hormone Binding Globulin). It felt so nice to actually have him listen to my concerns and take them seriously, I actually cried when I got back to my car haha.

Anyways, here are my numbers from 7dpo:

    FSH: 2

    Estradiol: 537

    LH: 6

    Progesterone: 20.6

I’ll go in first thing tomorrow before work to get the blood work done and should have the results by Wednesday.

    MrsMellyBean:  Where was your honeymoon?

hogoboom2012:  Wow, that’s a lot of family time. I like our families but I would want a break as well! Your parents’ puppy sounds amazing! The fireworks were awesome! The barge was directly in the hole in our view between buildings so we could see it all. Darling Husband feels like he passed but won’t know how his score does on the curve for abour 3 weeks.

MrsMellyBean:  Yay for your doctor listening and timing working out! That’s a great post-o estrogen and progesterone – right on the mark for a treatment cycle with a nice strong O so really great for a natural cycle!

ruby26:  It was awesome. I’d love to tell you more if you want to know anything! We took 90 most of the way so passed just under Chicago, then went to Seattle. We timed it so we drove the badlands loop east-west on our way to Rapid City, SD. Then from there spend a few days in the black hills. So we saw Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse monument. We LOVED Custer State Park in the black hills, it was our favorite part. The wildlife loop there is crazy, thats where we saw the most wildlife. There’s a gorgeous lake surrounded by boulders you can hike around and boat in. There is another park with caves just south of there that we didn’t go to because we had the dog with us but it also sounded cool. Then from there heading west, we took the probably 2 hour total detour to see Devil’s tower on our way to Yellowstone/Grand Tetons. We tried to keep it to 8 hour days so that we had a cushion which paid off when we had a tire puncture. So we did WNY to South Bend, IN, south bend to somewhere in MN, MN to Rapid City, SD (including detour through badlands), Rapid city to Yellowstone (9 hrs IIRC), Yellowstone to Spokane, Spokane to Seattle (4 hrs)

    Roll Call!

    TTC/TTA: TTC

    Cycles TTC/Charting: 7 cycles TTC 11 charting

    Age/SO’s Age: 29/30

POAS/AF Date: not sure, wonky cycle

BFP Plan and/or Known Issues: Using opks and BBT, taking prenatals. One CP at 5 weeks and a natural MC that started at 9w, however at the 8 w scan I was told it stopped growing at 6 w.  OB says it is just bad luck.  However, I am waiting for AF so I can get more testing.

Random question: Let’s try a super positive note to start the year: What was the best thing that happened last year?

    I got married!

Poll question: DOGS!  I have one, and he is the best.  I tell him daily that he is the most handsome dog that ever existed. My Darling Husband thinks I am crazy!

MattieK:  Yay for a dog countdown! So awesome.

Feist:  They sure do! People often think they’re hyper but of course they aren’t at all. Just big, loving couch potatoes. We affectionately call ours a “greyhound-skin rug” when he sprawls out in the middle of the rug. Cautious congrats on our best chance of pregnancy yet!

hogoboom2012:  Wow, Haiti! A good friend of mine went to volunteer a few years ago (she’s a nurse) and her experience sounded very intense and very interesting.

ruby26:  Ugh for nasty weather. We’ve been getting RAIN here (at least it’s snowing up high) and I’m so over it. I definitely prefer skiing in good weather- I only go out when it’s crappy because I have to! I’m sorry to hear about the purple box of doom. That sucks. I just googled Ovacue becasue I was curious about it and “my iPhone got me pregnant” made me snort. Too bad it’s so pricey or I’d say to give it a good kick next time you see purple.

MrsMellyBean:  Hope you get some good results on Wednesday!

livcee:  Huge congrats on getting married! And I’m so, so sorry to hear about your losses. Hopefully it truly was just bad luck and 2016 brings you some good luck and a baby!

hogoboom2012:  Eee, I know, sk soon! I’m weirdly nervous. Don’t worry about not checking in, I haven’t either! This holiday season has been kinda nuts. It was nice, but I’m so glad it’s over. I bet you are so relived to be finished with your holiday marathon! And your appt is soon too — only a week!

MrsMellyBean:  Thank you! Teaching was so great, I really hope I can do more of it :). And having the doggie countdown is nice, I know at very least, that is going to be a great part about 2016!

Feist:  What kind of dog did you get? I THINK I want a lab/lab mix, but honestly I’ll take whoever snuggles with me at the shelter, lol.

arielmerms:  Thanks! My husband had a great birthday! We saw an American is Paris and had dinner at Barbuto, and OMG if anyone is interested NYC they need to go to Barbuto and get the chicken, and the show was fantastic! Overall a great way to ring in his thirties πŸ™‚

arielmerms:  I bet you get SO much more light post bushes. And also, it sounds like you’re feeling a little more comfortable with the prospect of IVF?

hogoboom2012:  wow, it does sound like you had a great 2015! And OMG you parents dog sounds amazing! My brother has a Newfoundland mix and a great Pyrenees, and they are so beautiful and so, so sweet! Look at this face!

ruby26:  Noooo purple box of doom! (Love that name, BTW). Hopefully the ovacue figures her shiz out soon! But I’ve been wanting to dk a similar road trip too — there are SO many amazing things out west, but that would be a LONG drive from NY. Maybe we could fly partway and rent a car. Would you take your dog with you?

MrsMellyBean:  I’m sorry about the test results :(. I dont know much about PCOS, but I’m sending hugs — I’ve definitely been in the cry in your car (er…in the subway, awkward) after an appointment camp.

Feist:  Gah, that trip sound incredible! My husband and I are talking about taking a big trip in June (right before the dog acquisition), and were talking about Thailand, but this sounds like an amazing alternative if by some miracle I’m KU by then.

livcee:  I’m sorry about your loss. And wow, this poll question has revealed we are a bunch of dog crazy charters! You should post a pic of the most beautiful dog in the world!

MrsAKSkier:  I had the same exact ovacue search/discovery/reaction. I think (hope?) It was intended to be tongue in cheek?

Sorry for multiple posts. I’m on my phone, and honestly a little lazy. But really, I am just freaking out a little because tomorrow I see the RE (exciting!) And I’ll give away all my blood (terrifying), and I was getting a migraine so I had some caffiene which I NEVER have, so basically:

MattieK:  He’s lab mixed with mountain feist (thus the username!) Seems 50-50. Feists are squirrel hunting terriers descended from rat terriers. Those are the only chill terriers. We got him at a year old and he was just suuuuuuper laid back for a terrier-lab one year old. He enjoys being active but is content as a couch potato. He’s got lab food motivation and desire to please. He’s really well behaved unless there is a rodent nearby, at which point his mind goes totally blank and he goes into kill mode. I’ve never before had a dog that was actually a successful hunter like he is. He snuggled into me at the shelter and really didn’t want us to go when we walked off to look at other dogs. I can’t imagine him having been a stray he is so lovey! (yes I am such a crazy dog mom.) So excited for your appointment tomorrow, let me know how it goes!

Feist:  Gah, he’s adorable! I would have taken him home too. But oh man, I can only imagine a terrrier lab mix!  Kill all the rodents, and bring them to you, so proud of himself — “its a gift!”. My mom has a rat terrier jack russel mix, and he’s surprisingly chill, and SO smart. Kinda scary smart, actually, but he loses his mind if he sees a mole/chipmunk/squirrel/anything small and scurrying.

MattieK:  Labs are built for sprinting, I think he’s got the terrier prey drive plus lab sprinting speed and he’s just deadly. Its crazy. And he doesn’t care about birds at all, or cats, but groundhogs (as big as cats) he goes after. Squirrels are his real passion, though. He’s smart, a great learner, but sometimes food makes his mind go blank so i have to train him with not-too-great treats or he stops thinking! I actually didn’t think he was that cute at the shelter, he was underweight and flea-ridden. But he cleaned up good πŸ™‚

    Roll Call!

    TTC/TTA: TTC

CD/DPO: Should have started Christmas Day but I’m not regular. Not temping so can’t be sure about O. Tested Christmas Day with a BFN

    Cycles TTC/Charting: 10 months

    Age/SO’s Age: 38/43

POAS/AF Date: AF should start any day now. Have another test home I may do in the meantime to be sure.

BFP Plan and/or Known Issues: Cycle went crazy after I got married last year. Long irregular cycles, light 2 week periods, had a 2 month bleed that had to be stopped with medication in the early fall. Last AF seemed more normal though (6 days, crazy cramps, etc). Bloodwork and ultrasound have come back normal (no sign of PCOS, fibroids, etc). Specialist appointment in a month.

Link to chart: Don’t chart. Stressed me out tbh

Random question: Let’s try a super positive note to start the year: What was the best thing that happened last year? Honeymoon! It was such an amazing trip.

Poll question: I said cat because that’s what I have right now. But I love cats and dogs.

Cycles TTC/Charting: I guess mine reset so #2 TTC, 30th Charting

    Age/SO’s Age: 28/ 36

POAS/AF Date: Not sure yet. AF might be due around 1/23

BFP Plan and/or Known Issues: Prenatals, I just started up red raspberry leaf tea again. Darling Husband takes his everyday vitamins too. Cutting back on alcohol and caffeine where I can. Do more yoga, chill out.  πŸ™‚

    Link to chart: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/freckledfox/

Random question: Let’s try a super positive note to start the year: What was the best thing that happened last year? Despite everything awful attached to it, Giving birth to my son was still the best thing that happened to me. Being able to give him a home in my belly for 7 months, and finally meeting him for 6 days before he went back to god’s arms. I struggle to call myself a “mom”, but I know that I am and I am thankful.

Poll question: I was a cat person until my family got a dog.  πŸ™‚ She lives with my parents, but when I visit her, she lights up my life.  πŸ™‚ She’s a little mini dachshund named Harley.

AFM, Nothing really going on. Seems like the beginning of my FW. It helps to get me excited more for TTC. I’m trying to take a relaxed approach. I don’t want to temp, but I might have to if i get stressed about opks (which is always haha). def no temping in the TWW though. I want to forget which dpo I’m on. My #1 New Years resolution this year is to Chill the F** out. The F bomb is necessary. Also, drink more water, also, Start each day with a grateful heart.  πŸ™‚   I love you ladies. You helped me through my worst year ever and I’m so grateful.
