@Jag – I know : (  I would be totally frustrated too.  That’s what I wonder about the CBFM too…does it matter if you just start on like day 10?  Neither you, nor me, need to start on Day 6.  Longer cycles really make OPKs difficult (and each stick is like almost a dollar!)

@JaneyD: I know! It just seems so wasteful – and let’s face it, I can’t afford to use the CBEFM if every cycle is 40-50 days long! The OPK sticks I don’t mind, since I use the elcheapos for the day to day.

Thanks for the support. I should be excited to see a potential O, but instead, it just feels like I wasted our first potential opportunity in months & months!!!

Yeah, we are taking this cycle “off” (as far as not OPKing daily, etc), but I thought it would be good to start charting so I can see my body’s patterns since I’ve never been able to before. πŸ™‚

@abbyful: Don’t count yourself out yet. We only got 1 BD session in, 2-3 days before I ovulated, and got pregnant.

@bunny: Yay! So glad you’re joining the charting ranks. πŸ™‚

I’m just waiting for this cycle to be over so that we can start afresh and get a brand new cycle/chart going!!

I’m getting frustrated.  It seems like every month when I get in my fertile window I start to sleep really poorly.  I usually temp at 4:45 a.m.  and around the time I’m expecting to O I’ll wake up several times in the night.  1:30, 3:15, etc.  So it makes it really hard to get an accurate reading.  At least it seems like it doesn’t affect my temps TOO much, still frustrating.  I guess we’ll just BD a lot and know that we did all we could no matter what πŸ™‚

This is my chart so far:

@ecomaha: Looks like that spike might be right on time… BD’ing frequently will definitely help up your chances of a BFP! πŸ™‚

I’m hanging out at CD10. I’ve been a bad charter… I’ve had a hell of a time trying to get up at the same time each day this cycle for some reason. It’s usually within a half an hour or so. Today, though, I was an hour and 15 minutes later than usual. CM is wet, increased sex drive (YAY! lol), CP seems high. I know it’s early to have a spike, but my chart did something similar last cycle!

Yeah, I’m hoping that my temps stay up.  I woke up SO hot this morning that I’m staying cautiously opptimistic about the temp spike πŸ™‚

I don’t know about everyone else but I never seem to be able to test at I exactly the same time everyday.  Just doesn’t work with me and how I sleep πŸ™‚  However, I have noticed that my temps stay pretty much the same, so I never adjust them.  Just so you don’t think 15 minutes is going to make or break it for you πŸ™‚

Hello charters! Random question – can anyone tell me the difference between light menstrual flow and spotting at the end of AF?  I noticed that changing light flow to spotting on CD7 put crosshairs on my FF chart when they weren’t there before… makes me think the distinction could matter??

Thanks in advance.

@78h2o:  I would think it could be different for everyone.  Spotting is probably just a little on a liner and light is a bump up from that?  Sorry, that is a hard one to decifer.  I know I have that issue too.

I use FF too though and that seems odd that it would effect if you have crosshairs or not….

@ecomaha: maybe my issue is that I don’t use liners, I use the “lite days” tampons???

It probably doesn’t usually matter that much, but it would have changed things in FF for last month – probably because it would have put the cross hairs on CD8 if CD7 was spotting and not light. With CD7 as “light” it wasn’t able to pinpoint ovulation.

This is the chart with spotting on CD7:

and this is the chart with light on CD7:

We are actually TTA right now (boo!!!!) but I did start with opk testing this month to try and confirm that I am in fact ovulating and to get a better idea of how long my luteal phase is… this month it is looking like my luteal phase is shorter than what it would have been if I had actually O’d last month on CD8, leading me to believe that CD8 would have been wrong for last month unless my luteal phase is not consistent (which I gather is unlikely)… does that make any sense?
