@MrsMcGyro:  That definitely looks like a true O to me!  Like I said in my previous response, sometimes it just takes a frustratingly long time after BCP for your body to get a clue.  I am so glad that you have some answers now.

@MrsMcGyro:  Oh, those long cycles are so painful. My heart goes out to you! It does LOOK like an O-shift – but I used to have a few of those back in the day, when my cycle was still anovulatory. That being said, I spy egg white CM in your chart? So the signs match up!

@ladyfingers:  Hey there! I don’t chart VS because it’s weird. Same with cervix position, since I can never tell what I’m … monitoring. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Temps & CM does it for me!! (And OPK’s, of course.)

@jaguar The cervical position thing is SO mystifying! Either I have really short fingers, or a cervix that likes to hide… or I just have no clue what I’m doing.

@jaguar:  I’m like 80% sure it was EW. I’ve been mostly dry or creamy since I went off the pill, but I was extra moist I guess you could say a few days prior and then that one day there was definitely stretch to it, so I made sure to mark it down. I hadn’t had that at all prior.

So I gave up charting at the end of last last cycle, I took the bar exam last week and what with the studying/ stress, my sleep patterns were way off, and I couldn’t seem to remember to temp when I did get some normal sleep.  AF is here again and I really wish I had charted.  Now I don’t know if I did O and have a really short LP, or if I’m still not O’ing.  Last cycle and the one before both could’ve been either anaovulatory or a 4 day LP, ugh.  Has anyone else had an LP that short??  I had EWCM like half of my last cycle, so that doesn’t help figure anything out either, haha.  Oh well, here’s to hoping this month will look better.

Here are my charts if anyone would like to take a stab at making sense of them, lol: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/3a7a27

Btw, I keep getting problems with trying to post and/or look at this threadd every now and then.  Maybe its time for a new thread?

I’m starting to get to the point where maybe something might be happening soon.  I’m just drinking my green tea and waiting on a spike.  We’ve started EOD so at least we know we’re covered! ๐Ÿ™‚

@lawschool bride:  I would definitely start charting, just to give you a better idea what is going on with O and your LP.  Now that the bar is over hopefully things will start to settle down for you!  How long have you been TTC?

@lawschool bride:  I am sorry, sweetie.  Both because you just had to take the bar (an experience I will never repeat) and because I really do think you are experiencing anovulatory cycles.  A 4-day LP sounds very unlikely, and I am not seeing strong evidence of O on any of your charts.  I agree with ecomaha and strongly recommend that you re-start charting now that the bar is behind you… follow the charting rules exactly for 3-4 months and see what happens.  If you are still not seeing strong evidence of O (+ OPKs and fertile CM followed by solid CHs), I would see your doctor… he/she can put you on drugs to help.  There is no point in wasting a bunch of time TTC if you aren’t O’ing naturally (Jag can probably give you some better advice on this matter than I can).

How long have you been off BCP?  If less than 6 months, I second my own advice above… if more than 6 months, I would recommend charting for a couple more months before seeing a doctor.  Having 4-5 charts to show your doctor will really help him/her understand your situation.

@ecomaha:  Woo hoo!  Just out of curiosity (and I really should know this at this point, so my apologies – I have been a bit MIA lately) – what are you doing this cycle for the short LP?

Thanks for the responses!

@ecomaha:  We’ve been NTNT since the wedding, almost 7 months now.  I really  started TTC about 3 months, though I don’t know if I can really call it that, without Oing its hard to try haha.

@septcabride:   Ugh yea the bar was not fun, I reeeeally hope I never have to take it again, haha.  Yea, I’m pretty sure my cycles are anovulatory too, just got my hopes up with those fake crosshairs, haha.  I’ve never been on BCP (we waited till we got married then went ahead with NTNT).  I have PCOS, something I’ve known about for ages.  I’ve been taking metformin for about 3 months now, which has helped shorten my cycles, but still no O. The next step accoring to my doctor is clomid, but I think I want to take some more time before getting to that point, at least 6 months.  I’m hoping that less stress in my life and losing weight will help me O naturally.  But yea, I’m definitely going to be charting more strictly too!

@septcabride:   Well, I’m getting tested ๐Ÿ™‚  At least that is my plan/hope.  I go to see my doctor on Friday and I’m hoping to set up a blood draw for progesterone and thyroid.  I’ve been using progesterone cream for 2 months but haven’t seen much of a change.  Even though it’s a shorter LP, I’m thankful it’s at least 10 days.

@lawschool bride:  So, about Metformin… Does that increase fertility? I’m familiar with it from the diabetes standpoint, but did not know that it was used in treatment of PCOS. Do you know what it does to make women more fertile, if that’s what it does?

@lawschool bride:  Metformin did help to shorten my cycles (over 100 days, down to 60) but I never O-ed on it naturally. It took four-five cycles on Clomid before I got an O. We all react differently to medications, so your specialist might put you a very low dose to start with. That might be all you need! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m happy to say at 5DPO that my temps definitely have shifted. (Thank goodness!)

@macbookbee123:  Metformin is used to help regulate insulin in the body (if insulin levels are more under control, your chances of ovulating are much better) – it’s not prescribed to ALL PCOS women, but usually those who are borderline or have definite insulin issues. That, and diet, usually helps. I say usually a lot because… who knows it’s exact scientific benefit? But yeah; it can’t hurt.

Hi ladies, does anyone know what is the difference between “mid cycle spotting” and “implantation spotting” on fertility friend?

I’ve seen some charts that were marked as mid cycle spotting but it occured at around implantation time (6-10 DPO).

Thank you!
