@septcabride:

I shouldn’t be running a fever, which is why I was confused too. I’m using an ear thermometer (could that mess it up?), but am otherwise following all the instructions.

Ugh, I was supposed to get my TSH checked a while ago but my work has me too busy to go get the blood tests done, I hope it’s not a big deal 🙁

@FutureJessicaMcB: Sorry – I did not mean to come across as alarmist.  Many people have thyroid issues, but the earlier you get checked the earlier you can either know you are healthy or care start taking care of it.  My incentive to get it checked would be that I don’t think you will be able to get accurate charts until your temps are under control, but I don’t know very much about medical stuff.  Try getting an actual BBT (the one sold on amazon gets good reviews, just stay away from the Target BBT) and temping internally – that is the best way to get an accurate chart.

@septcabride:

It’s all good. I know I should go, but I have a very demanding high-stress job and our wedding is eight days out. I’ve been sitting on the blood test requisitions for almost three months…Ugh.

I’ll look into getting a BBT and see if that helps. Thanks!

@ecomaha: That’s good to know!  Mine definitely had favorite temps and I have heard from many other women who have had the same problem.

@septcabride: I do think it has favorite temps, but it still shifts temps approp. too.  Like I often get 97.18.  I doubt I’ll ever get 97.19.  Maybe it’s only really senstive to .05 or .04…

@JaneyD: I’m here! Granted, I don’t have any wisdom to impart (yet) but I’m waiting to O at this point!

@FutureJessicaMcB: I use the one from Amazon without any problems!

I’m hanging out at CD13 waiting to O. I had such a tease today! I’m a nurse and had to go take care of a one-month old baby. She’s tiny (5.01 lbs) b/c her mom made some poor choices during her pregnancy but she’s progressing well! My heart just melted… and my ovaries burst! lol

@FutureJessicaMcB:  I chart in celcius and my pre-O temps are usually between 35.9 and 36.3, my post-O temps are between 36.5 and 36.8.  I would definitely say that your temps are way high (my thermometer actually beeps at me if my temp is over 37-ish)

@FutureJessicaMcB: my tsh is screwy but my doc said it should be ok since we caught it early and it is low, not high ( that makes a difference I guess?) ?

I just started charting to get a baseline before we start TTC but I’m using Aesop on my iPad. Does everyone use fertilityfriend.com?
