@Yellow.Clover:  I’m SO sorry you’re having a rough time.  I don’t know the backstory and I’m sure it’s private, but I’m sorry things are difficult right now. Family issues can be so trying.  While it may not seem like it right now, I really think this year is going to be a big one for you and your Darling Husband.  You have a new house that you can take your next steps together and you also have another whole spectrum to explore now that you’ve decided to pursue a fertility clinic.  I know that’s a hard decision to make but I think it’s going to be the path to great things for you guys.  Again, I’m sorry things are so rough right now.  You are definitely in my thoughts. xoxo

@hardtoconcentrate:  yup, twice.  One on each knee (8 years apart), blew out my ACLs and menicus and had reconstructive surgery to repair them both.  Funny enough, the pain I had from a lap to remove a monster cyst I had on my ovary last march and the pain from a ruptured cyst that I had days after my wedding in august were WAY worse on the pain-o-meter than the knee injuries and surgeries.

@StaceyA:  Yay! Your clinic sounds amazing…just as amazing as your naturo.  I’m glad you decided to give it a go despite your first impressions.  So happy for you! Big things are definitely in your very near future.

@Yellow.Clover: Sorry to hear that things are a stressful for you right now.  Hugs to you!

@MrsPuddingface:  & @MrsEagleEye:  i really don’t think that medium-high intensity exercise would be a problem – i mean sure, don’t start doing anything intense, like training for a marathon or body building or something, but surely anything that improves blood flow and circulation HAS to be good for our bodies, right?? And we change eating habits and supplements while we’re TTC, so surely ncreasing/adding exercise is not that different. But gosh, if I hadn’t started going to my body balance classes 7 months ago, or walking/jogging on the treadmill, I’d be the side of a house by now… which would be even worse for fertility. Anyway – just didn’t want anyone thinking that I was advocating little-no exercise as a TTC strategy…

Oh, and I hope I don’t sound judgey – I’ve put on lots of weight since our wedding, too, had to move some of my favourite dresses to the cupboard in the spare room yesterday because I can’t fit into them at the moment πŸ™ But I’ve had a REALLY healthy week this week, with barely ANY sugar at all!!!

@StaceyA:  commented on your separate post – but I’m SO impressed with your clinic and doctor, and would be over there in a heartbeat to see him if I could. Also super impressed with your hubby in the appointment!! Oh, and like @Yellow.Clover:  you’ve helped convince me to change my OB/Gyn, it makes mine look even worse when I compare her to yours!!!

@Yellow.Clover:  oh honey, i’m so sorry you are going through such a rough time – I don’t even know how I would deal with being in that position πŸ™ I hope it starts to resolve itself soon.

Gosh – I’m so lost with who else I need to catch up with, I’ll come back later and see. Have a Naturo appointment that i have to get ready for. My temp was up a bit more today – but I’ve had good looking charts before that have done nothing, so trying to keep hope contained.

@MrsGrayIndy:  congrats! Keep us updated, FX for a sticky baby!

@hamikay:  how are you doing today lady? How was your naturo appt yesterday?

Well, this morning was fun (not). lol. I had an appt at the clinic at 6:30am for CD7 bloodwork and ultrasound. Did an abdominal with full bladder, then an internal with the dreaded wand after. Fun fun. They actually printed a couple pictures to put in my file, and while I didn’t get to see them I wanted a copy! ha ha. The nurse said they would call today if there were any issues with my bloodwork. Saw the doctor (at another clinic as my home clinic couldn’t get me in) and he was very pleasant. Said “you have lots of eggs for someone your age!” and seemed to indicate that was a good thing lol.

I have to go back Monday morning for CD10 ultrasound (abdominal and internal again i think), blood work and also a sonohystogram? I have read alittle bit on here about them but not sure what they entail. The nurse said that they will insert a saline solution into the uterus to get a good picture of it. I assume this is different than an HSG test and that the sono looks at your uterus and not the fallopian tubes? Anyone know what they are looking for, or who has done this before? They said to take an advil/tylenol and hour before to alleviate some pain/discomfort. Fabulous. Sometime next week I think I have to do a PCT (post-coital test) which sounds awkward. Do the deed, come in 1-4 hrs after to make sure my uterus isn’t killing off the sperm before they get to where they are going. Hoping I dont’ have a “hostile uterus” like Monica in the TV series Friends!

I honestly did not know how “in depth” this would be. They told me today to be prepared to come in almost every day/every other day for blood/ultrasounds so they can monitor this cycle. Seems like a lot to ask, but thankfully they are open very early and it shouldn’t disrupt my work schedule much if at all. My boss and his wife are also struggling to TTC (multiple MC, older) so I know that if i needed to explain any absenses he would be very understanding, which is nice. Hoping I dont need to tell him that though.

The nurse doing the ultrasounds was very nice. She wished me luck at the end of the appointment which I thought was very sweet of her. At one point during the internal I swear she was writing an email or something on the screen… I was there for about 15 mins just with the internal which isn’t painful.. but certainly uncomfortable!! I’m like “wtf are you doing up there, creating a map?? Writing a novel? Updating your facebook status??!”. i didn’t say that.. but I sure as shit was thinking it. LOL.

OK. Novel over. Would love to hear about people’s sono’s if anyone has done that before. May create a new topic to get some more responses.

Happy Friday ladies. Does anyone have any fun weekend plans? @hardtoconcentrate: – have a great weekend in Montreal lady!! xo

Wanted to update again. The clinic just called to say my THS (thyroid) tested high at 4.8 (normal is 0-2.5 apparently) this morning πŸ™ Have to go in at lunch to pick up a RX for “thryoxin” (?) which I take 1 pill in the AM on an empty stomach. Oh joy.

Funny enough, my naturo did suggest I was hypothyroid just from my sensitivities… go figure!!

Anyone had a high thyroid level found/treated with meds?

@ScottishMrs:  Hmmmmm. I don’t know? You are a fellow Canadian bee, so I am going to say they probably would (god bless the medical system here!). You could just explain the situation with your dr being far away/no transportation and that you a) feel like you could have a thyroid issue and b) both your parents have it.  I don’t see why they wouldn’t do it? Worth a shot, or perhaps a call to a walk-in close by to make sure before you go?
