@bananasareyellow:  That is hilarious you said ‘high five’. On our first date, we did a high five where you keep swinging your arm down so you do a low five too, it is now our thing. After much hugging and kissing, we definitely high and low fived.

Good morning ladies! Yesteday early evening, I was moving my POAS supplies to the guest bathroom (which was previously occupied by my visiting inlaws). While moving the supplies, I noticed I had one lonely OPK left (for those who don’t know, OPKs tend to be positive when HPT is positive, the LH and HCG are ‘twins wearing different cloths), so I decided “what the heck, it isn’t a real HTP, so if it is negative, I won’t be surprised or sad”. Well, it was a strong positive, so I decided to try a wondof. I was sure I wasn’t pregnant so I went about my business for several minutes before checking. When I looked I saw a faint, but clear, line. So I created as much more urine as I could (which was drops at this point) and used a FRER. It was a very clear positive.

Since DH was out, once I calmed down, I realized I had the opportunity to make the announcement special (if he were home, I would have ran to him waving a pee stick!). So I put the FRER in a box, wrapped it up as a gift and put the dog in a special t-shirt. When DH got home, I told him I’m sorry I’ve been so cranky and I got him a little something special. He opened the box and smiling asked “Is this what I think it is?”, at which point I handed him the dog and said “She wants to tell you something”. He read her t-shirt and we both started laughing. We hugged, kissed and laughed for a while after and then celebrated.

See below pictures of pup and pee stick. I’m still in disbelief, I took two more tests this morning and told my DH “I’m still pregnant”, he laughed and asked how many tests I actually have (I have about 20 and plan on testing daily until they run out). I’m going to be posting my symptoms by day in the POAS thread. I hope you don’t mind, but I still have every intention of stopping back in and chart stalking everyone!

Thank you all! I would have driven myself crazy over the past 5 months TTC without each of you calming me down, giving advise, empathizing and cheering me on. I hope to see each of you on the pregnancy boards very soon!

So, yesterday I have all the signs of ovulation: textbook EWCM (for the first time!), slight cramping on one side, headache, cervix was doing what it was supposed to… We BDed again yesterday just in case.  But no temp shift today and my cervix is definitely not as “receptive”.  Is it possible for the temp shift to take a day?  And/or is it possible my body was just practicing and decided not to O?

Sorry for the questions, this is just our first month really TRYING so I haven’t really paid attention to O signs before besides a temp shift.

@wandering_gypsy:  umm.. i think maybe 2 days and then the temp shift!  Thats what i think at least! More than two days, then the EWCM and cramps could be a fluke!  I get random cramps and like 7 days of EW and Watery CM. We’ll know im a few days!!

@FreckledFox:  thanks, I kind of knew that it could take a day or two… I’m just impatient and wanted confirmation. lol I really hope I did, that would make my POAS date earlier! And YES I’m a total renovator, I re-did our kitchen (painted cabinets and refinished our counters) and designed our laundry room, although DH spoiled me by hiring a contractor to actually make all the stuff I wanted. πŸ™‚

@FreckledFox:  Well, we technically didn’t pay him… We paid him in a bar tab (we own a bar, and the guy is a heavy drinker lol) so it wasn’t really any money out of our pockets just a little loss on alcohol sales but DH stopped drinking so it balanced out. lol  We I refinished our counters with Rustoleum Countertop Transformations… It’s a b*tch to do and you will hate every second you are doing it, but they actually work (and hold up, it’s been a year and there isn’t even a scratch) and look great.  They also have a 100% moneyback guarantee, we messed ours up (there is a weird line where we stopped and started again) so we got them for free.

    ETA: Ours were 60’s yellow/orange with water/bleach spots… horrible!

@FreckledFox:  I totally cheated and changed my O detector to Research Embarassed  I’m not convinced that’s when I O’d, so I guess we’ll see what happens.  I do love me some cross hairs, though!

@wandering_gypsy:  our whole kitchen was knotty pine panels, and the floor was bluesquares with green counters. We retiled, painted the paneling and all thats left are these ugly countertops. we wanted Soapstone, but might just go with a slate-like laminate for now!

We put back the crown moulding and its filled with food now.  πŸ™‚ no doors yet!
