livelaughlove628:  octoberbaby:  You’re welcome!

SadieBee:  Thank you lady! At this point, he doesn’t feel the need to visit a doctor for himself. He is ok if I do, so the home insemination might be closest thing to TTC to see if we can actually conceive before visiting fertility doctors.

Turtle83: Sorry lady about the BFP! It’s not unheard to get BFP on 13dpo, so hang in there. You’re not out yet πŸ™‚

FreckledFox: We agreed to BD during my FW and try the HI for a couple of days before O. So we’ll mix it up πŸ˜‰ We want to try this for a few cycles before visiting the fertility doctors to see what the next step will be. I’m super excited to start my new cycle and get on board with the HI and some real TTC. I have waited so long to TTC and now this…

MrsBananas:  No, I have not tried the softcups, but from what I heard they are more tricky than the menstrual cups. Our issue is not so much keeping the little guys inside is actually getting them anywhere close to my cervix. Otherwise, I could just try laying down with my legs up or what not. I just want make sure they get there as many as possible lol!

I was going to post this in the Nov boards but 1. I still feel closer to you guys and 2. it has to do with charting!

UGH…… SO FRUSTRATING So I woke up to no spotting (day 4), and a temp that was a whole degree higher than the last few days so I was positive. We were going to a bigger island today so I was excited to get to the hospital and hopefully see my HCG levels double.

So I get picked up by a van and droped at this hospital (which looked way different than back home) and get told I am in the wrong place 15 times. By the time I get to the right place I am in tears and the reception probably thinks I am nuts! Hopefully just hormones.

I wait 6 hours…. yes 6 hours! and go in to see the doctor. By this time I knew it was too late for a blood test because I needed the results by sail away at 5 pm. The doctor finally saw me and said “well bleeding is not a good sign and means something is wrong and your signs are not good for six weeks” So I tell him, that I am NOT six week, that was just the date of my last period and I am 99.9% positive that I am only 16DPO. So he asks me how I know and I tell him, and he proceeds to give me a lecture about how I am “working to hard” and “causing stress for no reason” and I “shouldn’t know I am pregnant this early”.

Fine…. whatever…. so he tells me that it is too early to do a ultrasound (agree) and that he cant even test my HCG leves because they only double every 3 days and it has been 2. (looked it up and it is 48 – 72). So he wants me to get checked again in a week! But he said that to him it looks just like an early pregnancy…to which I said “well if I didnt chart then I would know I was pregnant because my period is late, we would have assumed that I was 6 weeks pregnant, you would have told me it wasnt a viable pregnancy because there isnt a sac and I would have gone and got wasted in a bar tonight”.

Screw it, I am saying that I am pregnant! Now to see if the ship will let me off of bedrest…..urgh.

NonannaS:  Okay whoa, wow… deep breaths! Your story is making ME so frustrated FOR you!  At this point if you have no more bleeding I would just carry on with daily life until you can get home to a more trusted doctor. These people are wackos. Seriously! Some women don’t see their first doctor until like 8-10 weeks! So I’m thinking that maybe you had some early bleeding but all is well. You haven’t had cramps so I’m thinking it’s normal (as the women in your thread said as well!)… When is the earliest you can see a REAL doctor. As in one you trust?

NonannaS:  OMG that doctor is so stupid! To just go ahead and tell you that spotting is not a good sign and something is wrong, OMG I’m angry just reading your post. You don’t need this additional stress in your life ((HUGS))) Your temps are up, your tests are positive (2-3 weeks!) You’re pregnant!! πŸ™‚

FreckledFox:  I just did a Roll Call in the Nov boards because I am going to assume that everything is a-okay. I am not upset anymore and wasnt even in the appoitment, I think because I assumed the person wouldnt know very much about charting (which is probably wrong for me to assume). I am going to go to a place in FT Lauderdale one more time (I want to make sure that my HCG leves have gone up). If they have, we are assuming the best, signing off and flying to South Africa. But I do want to check on things before I get on a plane.

Once there, Darling Husband has a great family practice (that I love so far) and my sis in law just gave birth and loved her midwives and birthing team.

Turtle83:  FreckledFox:  It was also frustrating/comical to see a DOCTOR so anti charting. As in everythng i did to get pregnant (so clearly it worked) was useless and I shouldnt have any of that information. I just couldn’t take him seriously after that.

And to tell me “this is bad something is wrong” to ending with “you are great, normal early pregnancy that you shouldnt even know about”. Cheapies are positive, I am days and days late and my breasts are twice their size…. how would I not know I am pregnant!

NonannaS:  I am sure that when you DOOOOOO finally get a freaking doctor that will do what they are supposed to, your HCG will have gone up and I’m sure you’ll be clear for South Africa! I’m glad that you have a trusted practice there to look forward to! Thats great!! πŸ™‚

Seriously. Who are these jokers? Why is women’s health such a farce in so many places? I remember showing my chart and obsessing over it with the nurses and fertility consultants at my OB’s office, and I truly wish this for every single one of you out there dealing with doctors who don’t support you. They exist — don’t settle!

OK… 2nd cycle charting started today. Which made my last cycle 25 days. 25 days… wtf?? I’m usually 28 – 31 days but January and March were both 25 day cycles (unfortunately I’ve only been charting since last month so can only post one chart):

http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/4dbcd3/

I’m only 28 so I really hope my egg quality is not diminishing like the internet says it might be =\

Any idea why cycles get shorter all of a sudden?

I started a new job in January and at first I thought the short cycle in Jan/Feb was due to stress about new job… but I’ve settled in and still have had a short cycle. I never used to have shorter than 28 days.

amyinbrisbane:  I have the opposite problem — crazy long cycles. I’m not sure, I just know that pretty much everyone here has a story about how their bodies messed with them when they first started paying attention to their cycles! Depending on if it’s your follicular or luteal phase that’s getting shorter, some ladies on here know all about the supplements that can help lengthen or shorten! Personally I have month-long follicular phases and consistent 13-day luteal phases, so I just suffer through waiting to O!

Turtle83:  Any spotting for you? Will you test again? I am holding out so much hope for you because our charts DPO look so similar!

I don’t know how I will make it until Monday. I want to test now but I know a BFN will ruin my weekend, even though not being pregnant my first cycle back trying is hardly anything to be upset about.

amyinbrisbane:  Are you taking any new supplements? I think B vitamins, specifically b6 help to lengthen the literal phase after ovulation but I don’t know how to lengthen before O. Your LP isn’t super short (less an 10 days is considered an issue). Maybe try B vitamins! Your O date is normal though!

daybyday:  I want you to test so bad haha. But I won’t be around today to check results! So you can wait. πŸ˜‰
