I’m still here! I’m in California at a conference and I’ve been slam busy all week with very little downtime. Trying to catch up…

ROLL CALL!

TTC/TTA: TTC

CD/DPO: 7DPO

Cycles TTC/Charting: 4th charting, 1st trying

Age: 32

POAS/AF Date: trying to hold out until 8/14

BFP Plan and/or Known Issues: timing, charting, prenatals

Link to Chart: http://fertilityfriend.com/home/oldmrsmcdonald

For fun: What did you do as a child that got you in trouble? I was a pretty good kid, but do remember specifically lying to my mom about something really stupid around age 5 and getting caught. I have no idea why I lied!

@FreckledFox:  gah, I’m sad you’re leaving but totally understand. I don’t think I’d be able to stick around here if I wasn’t actively TTC right now. I hope to see you around some and I will definitely PM you when/if I need some sticks photoshopped!

ROLL CALL!

TTC/TTA: TTC

CD/DPO: I don’t even know. CD 25…I’m hoping FF gives me CH soon.

Cycles TTC/Charting: 3rd charting, 4th TTC

Age: 25…but my birthday is Monday!

POAS/AF Date: Again, I don’t even know. AF should be here the end of next week beginning of the week after, I think.

BFP Plan and/or Known Issues: Not much of a plan. I actually feel almost disinterested in the whole TTC thing. I got tired of the disappointment so we just BD when we feel like it and *try* to go EOD around when I think I might be O’ing

For fun: What did you do as a child that got you in trouble?

I’m a motor mouth. I ALWAYS got in trouble for talking too damn much 🙂

See why I have no idea when AF will get here or whether or not I O’ed? I had one other chart a few months ago that looked sorta similar to this, but eh. I don’t know.

Holy hormones, Batman!  AF has officially arrived.

I just started crying talking to my DH…I don’t even know why.  He just hugged me and laughed and said, “Well, this is going to be an adventure for both of us, isn’t it?”

I just have to vent about my obgyn again.  I’ve only had one appointment with her and she totally dismisssed my charts and what I said about ovulating.  She just tired to tell me that my long cycles were annovulatory and I finally just bled.  I’m like… LOOK!  4 obvious temp rises and a period 14 days later, that is not coincidence!  Then she proceeds to tell me that they dont encourage people to chart and that it’s a waste of time cause so many people do it wrong too.  In my head I’m thinking, lady this is the only thing that has kept me SANE!  Seeing that I DO eventaully O, even if it takes me 3 months!

Thankfully, my last two cycles seem to be ‘normal’ again, about 45 days.  So accord to my (useless according to her) chart, I O’d Monday.  FF thinks Sunday, but I’m pretty sure Monday.  So I emailed her for my CD21 bloodwork to make sure my progesterone levels are ok, and her response was ‘your day 3 bloodwork looks ok, we can wait for testing next cycle’.   On top of that she resonded to a voicemail via email for my day 3 testing TWO weeks after I did it arelady saying ‘yes you can come in today’.  A little late??  And what does day 3 have to do with 21 (or in my case 28)!?!?!   If I’m ASKING for it, why not just write it up! I don’t even need an appointment!  She KNOWS my cycles can be crazy long, why would I want to wait!  ARG!

TTC/TTA:TTC

CD/DPO: CD27/4DPO

Cycles TTC/Charting: 5

Age: 33

POAS/AF Date: Aug 17.  We’re going to a wedding on the 17th so I’ll test that morning.  If its positive, no drinks for me (and sadly no hot baths in Iceland next month, but I’ll take the BFP anyways)  If not, maybe a glass or two of wine (just in case)… and a massage in the blue lagoon!

BFP Plan and/or Known Issues: OPKs, BD timing.  Just a few long cycles post BC.  Hopefully its all in check now a year later.

@pinkshoes:  That is so frustrating.  Have you looked into changing providers?  I don’t know your history with her or how many options are available in your area, but I don’t know that I would be comfortable staying with someone who just dismisses (and disrespects) my own knowledge of my body so much.

Ugh.  I knew AF was coming but of course she had to appear now just before our first wedding anniversary..  When we are planning a romantic getaway to a resort nearby for a couple days.  Boo!

And we will probably get asked by more people now  “when are you guys going to have a baby?”  I mean the questions started as soon as we got married..  But our excuse at that time was to wait one year of being married first before trying.  Now it’s a year later..  But no one knows I’m off BC, only DH.  So now we are saying “we’ll see what happens”.  Our parents will be ecstatic since they have been bringing it up a lot.

@pinkshoes:  That sounds really frustrating, as a doctor she’s supposed to listen to you not be a dismissive jerk.

@pinkshoes:  That is so frustrating!  My doctor doesn’t take my concerns seriously either, but your doctor sounds like she is being extremely insensitive. Are you able to see a different doctor?

@WillowB:  Ughhhh… I just got off the phone with her.  I am going to look into a new referral.  She just totally blew off everything I said again.  Saying that it’s pointless to do the bloodwork if we don’t know if I’m ovulating.  Umm, wasnt that the point!?  To do bloodwork to check progesterone levels??  Why wouldn’t you want to do it to confirm it then!  And then she proceeded to tell me that cycles varying 45-50 days are probably annovulatory and that I don’t ovulate and that if I did, I’d bleed 14 days later.  If she’d listen to me and noticed my chart, she’d see that I probably DO cause I get the temp rise and I have my period exactly 14 days later!!  Wouldn’t that seem to indicate that I do O on my own???  But she’s cnovinced that I do cause NORMAL people have 28 day cycles.

Do I need the blood work to check levels?  Or is the noticible temp rise enough of an indicator.

@pinkshoes:  Oy.  Go somewhere else.  It freaks me out that there are DOCTORS who have such little understanding of how women’s bodies work that they can’t recognize that there can be variations from the average.  I can understand her maybe wanting to do testing just to confirm what you’re seeing on your chart, but not even looking at it or listening to you?  Give her the boot.
