Cross-posting from the august poas. The last two days I’ve had AF-like symptoms, but also slightly different… Hard to explain… I felt cramps and general pre-AF pressure “down there”, but no AF yet. The thing that is puzzling and still giving me hope is that when I feel AF-like symptoms, the bit*h shows up within a couple of hours. This cycle, I’ve had those symptoms for 2 days now. Wonder how many other bees fees these symptoms before a BFP. Oh, and I’m proud of myself for making it to 10 DPO without testing! One more day and then I’ll test. Hope I can have some self-control tomorrow…

@pinkshoes:  Oh wow! Truly baffling when we realize that we know more about female bodies than some of the professionals do… I agree with other bees to look elsewhere. Haven’t found a new obgyn yet, but I knew I found the right primary care physician when I went for a physical last fall and told her that the purpose was to make sure I’m ready to start TTC and that i had some concerns, and she talked about starting charting, prenatals, etc. Some doctors forget their role in the patient-doctor relationship and are totally dismissive of their patients’ concerns!

@Silverblade:  Oh no! Sorry about AF! It sucks, but try to take the anniversary vacation as one last hoorah. Have cocktails, eat food you may not be able to for a while, etc. AF sucks, especially during this romantic time for you, but you can still try to find a way to have fun and intimate. I also feel your pain on everyone asking… The first year was no big deal (we had many excuses: buying a house, changing jobs, etc), but now it’s getting harder and people clearly don’t realize that that is not something they should nag about…

@SadieBee: Boo to AF! Ahhhh, boys… When it didn’t happen for us the first time and I was upset, my DH responded with “yes it’s sad, but didn’t you say yourself that it may take a while?” Well played, Mr. BalticBee! I did read him statistics and tell him how hard it can be to show him why we can’t wait any longer. 😉

@phoebephoebo:  Welcome to charting!

@Peffy:  Have you tried OPKs? I wonder if they may be able to help you pinpoint the ovulation day.

@JavaLava:  Welcome! Excited for you! I still remember the feeling after getting off BCP, even though that was a year ago.

@candy11:  no crosshairs, but it seems to think CD24. I’m not sure I agree with that, but it was somewhere around that day, so whatever hahahaha

I’m so bummed. Since I O’ed kinda late, it’s pushing back AF which in turn is messing up chances for next month and the month after because DH has a really stupid work schedule for the next two months. I’m feeling really down and out. Plus this month, my hormones have been hitting me especially hard since I O’ed. So. Lame.

ROLL CALL!

TTC/TTA TTC

CD/DPO CD25/12 DPO

Cycles TTC/Charting: 5th/7 cycles charting

Age: 32 (DH 33)

POAS/AF Date: AF is due Tuesday. If it doesn’t come I’ll test Wednesday. I’m over BFN tests.

BFP Plan and/or Known Issues: We BD plenty in fertile window and no use of lubricants that would hinder. I’m taking B6 and EPO. Hopefuly my LP stays a good length.

I had gotten regular blood work done in Dec (CDC, Metabolic, Lipids and TSH but no hormone testing) and it showed I have hypercalcemia (high calcium in the blood) so the doc is repeating the tests to verify it really is that high. I’m worried about thyroid because my sister has hyothyroidism even though my level was fine. I’m tired of feeling tired and cold. He added a test for Vitamin D and PSC which has to high calcium.

For fun: What did you do as a child that got you in trouble? I would drew on the walls and have to clean it off. Once a friend and I rubbed play-doh on the wall of a neighbor’s garage. We weren’t being vicious, just not thinking. We had to scrub it off. As a teen I didn’t get into trouble.

@pinkshoes:  you are in the us right? If so just go to labcorp.com and schedule you own progesterone test. If you insurance covers infertility just pay out of pocket and submit the claim. That way you don’t miss out on you blood work while changing doctors. My insurance didn’t cover anything so I went that route and it was worlds cheaper.

@Peffy:  Talking about hormones, during my last cycles my hormones fired up right around May then all went downhill. I think that really messed up my cycle. I am sure that won’t happen to you. I just had this super high sex drive like never before. I wonder if anyone has felt like this?

@pinkshoes:  Get a new doctor, we might not have the doctor title, but we have some pretty good knowledge. I also ovulated 55 ish days into my cycle and about two weeks after I had my period. It cannot just be coincidence. Good luck!

@Silverblade:  Sorry about AF messing up your gataway. Ours will be in exactly in a month from today. Happy early anniversary!

@lovemygsp:  Good idea about the progesterone test. I wished I knew this before. I will do my own testing once I get off BC probably next year.

I expect AF to arrive tomorrow! I am crossing my fingers that it comes on the 4th day after stopping BC like it used to. Then to start a new package 🙁

@candy11:  Haha I forgot yesterday was Friday. It feels like two days ago! I feel the same way when we have to buy a new box of condoms. I feel your pain! 🙁
