(Closed) Charters with insomnia/sleep disturbances?

What’s the earliest you need to wake up? I get up in the middle of the night frequently, but my alarm is set for 7:30, which is when I temp. Usually by then, I’ve been asleep for long enough that the temp is pretty accurate. Could you move your temping time a bit later?

I know the feeling. it’s very frustrating to not be able to sleep weel, let along try to temp with it. Have you compared the temps you take at the multiple times? It may not be ‘that’ important to take it at the same time. It affects some women more than others.

I almost always wake up multiple times a night, and temp multiple times. I was setting my alarm early like you, but I found that I would often wake up before it and not have enough solid sleep to temp. I began setting my alarm for 8, and waking up closer to 7-7:30. I still wake-up a few times (usually around 1 and 4) but I have found that my temps really don’t vary too much as long as I take them after 4 and have had at least 3-4 hours of solid sleep. Personally, if I temp before 4 or with less than 3 hours of sleep the two temps temps vary a lot (more than a degree), but otherwise they are within a few tenths of a degree of each other, which I find to be a negligible amount of difference.

I currently temp when I wake up around 4-5, in case I can’t get another 3 hours, and at 7-7:30 when I get up. The temps are usually quite close. Today for example they were 97.68 and 97.73 at 4 and 7:30. I also use OPK’s to help pinpoint my O, and have found a consistent pattern between my + OPK’s and O. I’ve charted and used OPK’s together for enough months (many with a obvious O spike) that if I have bad temps around O I can still say with confidence on what date I’ve O’ed. I’d suggest adding OPK’s if you want ot be more sure.
