Hi bees! At age 35 (almost 36), I am finally TTC, having married the man of my dreams last fall. It’s both exciting and totally overwhelming. The first few months we just let things happen but now have gotten a bit more disciplined are are trying to track as much as we can. Honestly, I had no idea how little I knew about my body! The great news is that even w very bad endo (and 10 yrs on BC to try to control it), my body does seem to be quickly falling back into a solid cycle and to be ovulating.
Harder for me is figuring out what exactly I am supposed to glean from the BBT chart…like, my temp spiked but now it seems to be a bit of a sawtooth — is that okay as long as it stays above the cover line? I took a test today at 12dpo and it was negative, but I know that can be too early for some…just hard not to read in to every little sign! (And man, I miss Sat cocktails during this TWW!)
Any insights? Any tips that were helpful to you in the process??
Thank you!! Chart below just in case it’s helpful…

Looks like you ovulated cd 17, test again in a few days, sometimes down trending temps can mean AF is coming other times not

Meredith80: the up and down pattern you are seeing is called fallback rise and its normal. As long as you stay above your cover line it is normal. There are several things that can cause the up and down pattern. If you are a mouth breather when you sleep, waking up at different times every day.

As long as it’s above the line it’s okay. Mine usually takes a nosedive the day before AF starts, or the day of, and goes below.

Thanks all! Another rise this morning but a BFN (13 DPO). We’ll see if AF shows tomorrow. Really appreciate the insights and help!!

How long have you been charting? I have been since September after going off BC then, and do notice that my temp drops shortly before AF arrives. But, as long as most of the temps are above the coverline… that’s a good sign. However, I have had it stay high and AF shows up, and then lowers the following day.
I miss the cocktails too during the TWW, too, which I am in now (can test on March 9). However, I allow myself one drink if we’re out, but that’s about it… usually a glass of wine that I slowly sip on.

Meredith80: are you temping at the same time every day? Your temps look a little rocky to me. Looks like you are also getting the dotted crosshairs because you have fertile cervical mucus after the estimated O day.

Thanks @kacie209 and @kes18! This is my first full month charting. I do it every morning at 6a, although for the first 10 days I didn’t realize that getting up to go to the bathroom at 4a may throw off the temps — so, now I drink a little less before bed and stay put until my husband hands me the thermometer at 6. But they still seem to fluctuate, so who knows. Pretty sure I sleep with my mouth closed and our room is always at 67* at night. I also seem to have a lot of EWCM both well before O and a few days after — I have been tracking that for longer and it’s been relatively consistent….
Given that AF is due tomorrow, we will see what happens. Hopefully I will get better at learning my chart patterns each month, although hoping it doesn’t take TOO long! 🙂
love the help and support of this community, so thank you! And baby wishes to you all of you are trying, too!

Meredith80: Yeah throwing out the first 10 days your temps look a little better. All of the fertile cervical mucus probably means you won’t get solid crosshairs but since you have lots of BD you are still covered even if the O date is wrong.
