So.. I have a wedding favor dilemma. Well, that’s the dilemma of the week… =:)
In looking for favors I decided to just go with an edible one. The “practical” ones are great and all, but many people may not like what we give. At least with candy, they will most likely eat it!
I found some small 3″ apothecary jars, 120 for $115. Candies, I could get for about $60. I planned to just put some colored candies to match the color scheme into the jars with a ribbon tied around it (maybe). I could also save some $ on candies and buy tart candy hearts with the typical love-sayings. Still undecided on that. Haha.
So, we are on a budget which is seemingly getting tighter by the day. I searched around a bit and found these little guys:
..and I thought, “Hey, I can save around $50 bucks here AND have extras!”. However, I feel these may give our guests a “cheesy” impression. At least the apothecary jars would be something they can (possibly- they are rather small) use afterwards and have a more substantial presence. But can I justify the extra $50+? I am not so sure.
What do y’all feel about favors? I mean, We definitely do not want to spend more than the $170 or so it would cost us for the apothecaries and candy.. however it would sure be nice to save that extra $$ and buy the cheaper holders.

I think those holders are cute! And anywhere you can save money is nice. Plus, people may not reuse the jars, and then what? You spent the extra money so they could throw them away? I don’t think it looks “cheesy” at all. 🙂

Since it’s a food favor, I vote for a disposable container! Save the $$ from the jars and use the clear containers instead 🙂

Just make a cute tag for the favors, and you’re set! The heart shaped boxes are cute.

i agree and say cheaper containers since the favor is edible…save some money! 🙂

i think the boxes are cute – save the money! (you should make a poll :)!!!)

I think the boxes are fine. The jars are a nice idea, but when it comes down to budget I think you should go with what you can afford on the small things and use the extra money on larger things that will matter to you more in the long run. If you don’t like the plastic boxes have you thought about small plastic bags tied with ribbon in your wedding colors? They come in packs of 100 at craft stores and run about $4 a pack.

Use the heart shaped containers. The jar would go straight into the goodwill donation bag as soon as I got home from the wedding.
Even better would be if you could find a biodegradeable container rather then plastic.

Go with the heart boxes! Add a nice bow and a cute tag on them and they’ll look so nice.

I vote for the heart shaped boxes! Save money where you can..plus what if not all of the guests take their favor? What are you going to do with a bunch of left over apothecary jars? It’s not like you can leave the price tag on and hope to return it! 🙂
