Good for you not going for the flashy bits and having your guests suffer. You’re feeding and watering them they’ll be happy. Enjoy your day and stop worrying what everyone might say! 🙂

You’re my new hero, because that’s about what my budget is, only a lot fewer guests. Knowing others have done it makes me confident that I can, too.

@Benni:  People used to be happy with a ceremony followed by cake and punch.  Anything more than that and you are definitely taking care of your guests.

When I first read your post, the only thing I thought about is that guests will NOT care about decorations, a fancy band, or favors (seriously, who cares about favors, I’m pretty sure it’s much more for the bride than the guests). Alcohol was the one thing I was sort of hesitant about, simply because for my group of friends and family, not having alcohol at a weekend evening event WOULD be very rude. I don’t drink, but asking any of my friends to sit through a Friday night with nothing to drink would make them upset.

BUT you said your crowd is not like that, and that no one really drinks. So I think you are totally solid.

Besides, I sort of wish we had noodles cater our wedding, we just had them do our rehearsal. I would give up my left pinky for some pasta fresca right now 😉 Yummmm

Just out of curiosity, if you don’t mind posting, where in Colorado is your budget location? I just got married there!

Ah, I love Noodles and Co!  We get them to cater work events- it always goes over fabulously!  You are da bomb for doing that!

Funny I live here and the weather is kind of cuckoo right now but I had my wedding back home so cost of us flying back to them had to be figured in.  We also didn’t have alcohol etc but we did have it at an afterparty at another location.

I think as others said as long as your feeding them and keeping them in a comfy location to eat no one will care.  We had no dancing either due to the church situation we didn’t keep people long and many came to the after party which was much more relaxed.

I say do what you want.  The kind of people who would complain are not the kind of people you want around you anyway.
