What style are you going for? We are using books and flowers in dollar store vases. We’re looking for specific hardcover books, but if we can’t find all of them, any book from Goodwill (or our bookshelf) will do!

I had the same problem since we couldn’t afford real flowers for all the 14 tables and we didn’t have enough time to make fake flowers either (since most of our wedding was DIY) so we made these super-cheap DIY vellum luminaries as centerpieces. The tables look kind of arid because we were supposed to have fabric napkins on them, but just try to picture the whole scene with any accessories you want for your tables. Or maybe you can use both luminaries and fake flowers Laughing

Thanks! Yes, I made them; they are kind of time consuming, though. The good part is that you only need vellum, cardboard and glue, so that’s super cheap. I don’t know how much $ you’re willing to spend on your centerpieces because “cheap” could mean different things to different people, but if you’re really into paper flowers, maybe you could do some country style centerpieces or vintage decoration with something like the pic below. I think this cute little centerpiece on the pic below could look very elegant if you add 3 or 4 tea lights around it (on the table, not on the plate):

Maybe paper flowers in sober colors would be very elegant, Don’t you think? Here’s a link from Martha Stewart page with instructions to make some sorts of paper flowers.

      Hopefully it works!
