My favorite is pizza/movie night! Making pizza is fun to do together, add in a bottle of wine and a movie and it’s the perfect night πŸ™‚

@Moja Milosc:  Download a movie, go for a picnic, light candles and have a bubble bath together, go for a walk together, go to the bulk food store and get your favourite treats each and indulge, fun board game (scrabble, apples to apples – although some would require more than 2 players…).

These are things Boyfriend or Best Friend and I do when we live in the same city πŸ™‚

Bostongrl25 : OH OH cooking together is so fun! Boyfriend or Best Friend and I baked two pies together and had a lot of fun πŸ˜›

We made mini pizzas and he let me do the toppings so I spelled out M+K = <3 on them

You are reading my mind by starting this thread! I feel like we are in a rut and could use some new ideas.

Typically – we’ll cook dinner, watch a movie, light candles, drink wine, go for a walk….

Those things are always nice, but I’d love some new ideas!

We have a weekly in-home date night every Friday after our daughter goes to bed.  We watch a movie on Netflix, play a board game, build a puzzle, or play a game on the Wii or computer.  Sometimes we order in, but most of the time we’ll just get a special treat to eat together, like ice cream, popcorn, etc…  I’m actually really looking forward to it tonight!

Also what about checking out events at the local community center or community college?  Ours are always hosting really cheap events like movies, speakers, disco ice skating, wine tastings, etc…

Bowling and ice skating are two of our favorites! If you do a day-date, visit a local winery– tastings tend to be cheap or free, and you can take a picnic! Also, a lot of them do happy hours on Fridays.

We’re trying to save money right now (wedding to pay for, after all!) so here’s some things that work for us:

-bargain night movies or going to a matinee (a local chain of about 4 theaters near us has $5 movie night one day a week)

-going to a restaurant for happy hour, just appetizer split, or appetizer and dessert

-Groupon it up! I got a gift certif for a restaraunt near us for $10 (it’s worth $30!)

-dorky and not one on one, but game night with friends! We love Apples to Apples

-cook together (you can make it a competition, try out a new recipe, or pick an ingredient to base everything around)

-rent a movie and snuggle on teh couch

-when the weather is warmer, mini golf!

If you live in a college town, see what performances/sports games are going on at the university.  If you and your Fiance are into theatre or concerts, lots of times colleges put on professional quality productions for a fraction of the price!  Afterwards, stop by a local coffee shop or go out for ice cream and talk about what you liked the most/least about the show/concert or your favorite moments during the game.  Both my Fiance and I are in college and totally take advantage of the entertainment the university provides for cheap date nights!

People watching can be free. A nice outdoor cafe if it’s warm out or the mall if its cold, keep your eyes open and your bound to see something amusing. We like to make up stories about about the lives of the people that walk by.
