@ambergirl:  I haven’t but plenty of bees have ordered from Jasmine’s and Dressilyme.  There are a lot of threads in the dress board.  With a local seamstress, you could feel the fabric yourself.

@ambergirl:  You need to find a happy medium.  Mine was $800, which I found pretty affordable compared to most, but it was really nice.  It was Watters.

There are deals to be had on designer dresses, you just need to be able to find them. I got my Pronovias as a sample for 70% off at a bridal show. Its in perfect condition.

Good luck with your planning!

You can justify the price by selling it afterward and making most of your money back

@ambergirl:  I was like you and bought an inexpensive dress, $650.  And at the time I thought it was what I wanted, the price just helped make the decision.  Well I ended up with dress regret.  I fell in love with a dress that was $2,000 and I was extremely stressed because I wanted this perfect dress, but didn’t want to spend the money.  After months of visioning my wedding day in each dress, I ultimately decided to go with my dream dress.  As @linnylou_88:  said you will only wear the dress once but you will be looking at your wedding day pictures forever.  If it helps to make your decision of splurging better, how about after your wedding you sell the dress?  That way your pocket won’t feel quite as empty after your big day and you can have your dream dress.
