Go to the local farmers market, library, I third or fourth the redbox movie night as well.  I also love other ideas! 🙂

We love Groupon and Living Social for cheap date nights– last night we had pizza and watched a movie for $10 total thanks to Groupon!

Once in a while, we would go biking together in the park near our house. Go buy plants and do gardening together. BBQ in the back yard.

We go fishing a lot.  There is a river in our town, and we already have our fishing licenses and a container of worms will last a while if you keep them in the fridge.

Yes, a sealed container of dirt & worms is in the fridge. LOL

There are also free concerts, festivals, and things going on all summer. Sometimes we’ll go hang out all day by our friend’s pool.

We make our own pizzas and instead of going to a bar, drink mostly at home (ends up being < $1 a drink vs. $7-$8 out). Netflix, of course, is a life saver. We have a popcorn machine (way cheaper than microwave popcorn). We also ask for gift cards from time to time for birthday or anniversaries, and those are usually good to get us a dinner date for free from time to time.

We’ve also found how valuable memberships can be — my Mother-In-Law gives us a pass to the zoo every year, which lets us go see the animals but also gets us into things like the Festival of Lights at Christmastime.

We bought bicycles, which has an upfront cost but then is a totally free way of getting out and spending an afternoon or evening together!

Candles, music, massages. All free and wonderful!

Video games, cooking at home, picnic in the park (we have several in our community), credit card points rewards (movie tickets, dinner, etc).
