I’ve played around with making invitations on a few sites, but the end product is usually a little on the pricey due to me not needing a large amount of invitations. We will only be having twenty guests. Any suggestions on where I should order from? Or would I be better off doing my own design and having it printed somewhere? Thanks in advance!

I think it would be cheapest/easiest to make them yourself and print them. But the trouble I had was finding that small a quantity of matching envelops.
You could also try printing them on here – http://www.artscow.com/photo-gifts/greeting-card but you would still have to design them yourself. Make sure you read the reviews first as I haven’t used them yet myself.

Try Vistaprint, the quantities start at 10. Michaels and Hobby Lobby also have a set you can buy where you get 25 invitations, I can’t remember the price. But you fill in the info on your computer and print them out, I’m not exactly how it works but they have some cute designs.

If you’re a Costco member, you can order 25 invitations with envelopes for around $17.

Uprinting.com will let you print as low as 25 invitations. Or catprint.com lets you do custom printing and they are a really fantastic company to support, they let cats hang out in their design offices (not the printing rooms, don’t worry).

This will likely not be the cheapest option but I have zero interest in printing my own save the dates or invitations so I’m offering the website we’ll be using. 🙂 They alternate between 25% and 40% off sales. There are hundreds of designs and you can personalize each online, including changing colors or fonts. 20 invitations is $46.68 for the lower priced invitations. There are 887 different designs to choose from at this price. Pocket fold and foldover invites are more expensive. http://www.magnetstreet.com/weddings

ladybugaboo : I used vistaprint and I think the minimum was 50 invites but it didn’t cost much at all (though I forget how much). It obviously depends on just how fancy you want your invitations to be; mine were just a sheet of cardstock and an envelope. If you’re going for the whole insert, tissue paper, more inserts, etc shebang, you’re going to have to give over the cash. Oh and they also had big ol’ sales now and then so I never paid full price.

Go local! There are so many local printers itching for work that might be more flexible. Also, Etsy.

I used catprint.com for all of my bridal shoewr/bachelorette/miscellaneous invites. Thet let you custom-design whatever you want and even send you a proof so you know exactly what you’ll be getting as the final product. Their pricing is incredibly reasonable (free envelopes too I believe) and you can order as much or as little as you want!
