I know that White Rock lake has some sort of building on a hill that people use as a wedding venue overlooking the lake. And because it’s run by the city it is very cheap. As far as I know you book through the Parks and Rec Dept. I considered getting married there because I’d heard good things, but ultimately never went to look because I decided on getting married in Galveston on the beach for free.

ETA- 50 people is pretty small. Has she considered renting part of a restaurant for the reception and a free outdoor wedding? She could just have everyone meet up on Grapevine lake for a cheap ceremony and then go out to eat. I know 11/12 would be pushing it as far as an outdoor wedding, but it wouldn’t have to take long.

For $300 I would stick to parks and community centers. There is a community center in Hurst that fits that budget, not sure about Dallas.

The Hurst place is the Brookside Convention Center
