@legenwaitforitdary: The sooner you check in, the more choice you have for seating. If it’s a short flight, it doesn’t matter that much, but it can be a big deal for a long flight.
You need your flight information, booking number, email address if you have an account with the airline etc.
If you can’t find the number you need to use, phone the airline’s 1 800 # for help but after you get the information try to check in online or there may be a fee.

@julies1949: Thanks! I’m going to call soon to see if I can get the other info. I just wanted to make sure I have all the correct times.

@legenwaitforitdary: I’m more concerned that you never got that email. Whenever I book a flight online, I get a confirmation email in minutes. I’d contact the airline help desk ASAP.

Depends wether or not you chose a seat ahead of time and what airline you are flying. Some don’t assign seats until final check in, some assign them when you purchase and it never changes.

@legenwaitforitdary: how did you book your flight? online or with a travel agent? i know some airlines don’t give you the option of checking in online if you book with an agent, only if booked online.

The final check in you usually cannot do until 24 hours prior, so is that the issue?
Otherwise I’d be calling to make sure you recieve whatever email you need.
