@furnituregirl:  I did. We stayed at the Gaylord Opryland ( think: a MASSIVE hotel) on Mothers Day weekend so it was packed. I walked through it with my dress still on and it was super fun. People were contragulating us, taking pictures with us, etc… made an awesome and unexpected memory!

@furnituregirl:  Heck ya. I spent so much money on it I really should be wearing it for at least a week afterwards.

Something no doubt MILLIONS of Brides before you have done.

If you aren’t changing into Going Away Outfits before leaving the Reception for good, then YES you’ll probably be checking in as Mr & Mrs in your Hotel in full Wedding Regalia…

Enjoy it… as others have said, oftentimes just the sight of a B&G at the Front Desk will get you a complimentary UPGRADE

Infact don’t be shy… on your Honeymoon tell EVERYONE that you are Newlyweds… you’ll find out the world loves a NEWLY MARRIED COUPLE IN LOVE… all kinds of cool things can come your way (Upgrades, Free Drinks, Free Desserts etc).  Lol, soak it for all its worth, you only get it one time in life !!

Hope this helps,

I didn’t want to deal with all of that so I set it up with our venue to allow my dad to check in for us. He had plenty of time while we were doing our first look, so he checked us in and moved our bags into our room so afterwards all we had to do was get our key and go.

Yup, that’s what I did (two days ago!) It was really fun — I loved walking around in my dress!

We’re checking in before the wedding. My Maid/Matron of Honor is dropping our bags off for us. That way we can run out of the car and straight up to the suite. We’ll still walk through the lobby in our wedding clothes but we won’t have to stop and actually check in.  Logistically that makes the most sense for us!

I had Darling Husband check in earlier in the day before the wedding.  We did walk through the lobby in our wedding cloths and tons of people ooooed and ahhhhed us 🙂

That’s what we’ll be doing. No other way around it for us. Plus I am wearing that dress as long as possible! And it’s the one day I don’t mind people staring at me!

Haha yep! I made the reservation with the sales coordinator that also did our block of rooms. I told her we’d be checking in around 12:30 or 1 am (right after the reception) and we did! There was actually another bride and groom checking in the same way that night 🙂

You should. As the others have said, it might score you an upgrade or some other little niceties, like a late check out time or some freebies. And if you’re not already a rewards member with that hotel chain, sign up now. They’ll be even extra nicer to you if they see you’re a “loyal” customer.
