how can it NOT be a good idea? πŸ™‚

Cheesecake is on Martha Stewart’s non-traditional cake list…go for it!

Cheese cake is never a bad thing. I’ll expect an invitation ASAP since we’re just a few weeks out πŸ˜‰

I did that for my first wedding. We didn’t have a tiered cake. We did a main cake for the one we cut, which was plain, and decorated on the edge with the inscription from the One Ring (I’m a Tolkien dork). There were several other flavors of cheesecake set up around the main one, all on different levels of cake stands. We had chocolate swirl, turtle, some other flavors, and plain with several different fruit toppings on the table. Though, I’m sure you could have a tiered one done, or make it yourself (Michaels has tons of stands and such in their baking aisle).

I had my father’s neighbor, who made them for friends all the time, make them for me. We were originally going to make them ourselves and freeze them (many will freeze fairly well, just check the recipes to make sure).

And everyone loved it! Some people don’t like cheesecake, but you’d probably run into that with any dessert. Everyone I knew loved it, though.

Oh yum. Any occasion with cheesecake is a good one. I bet you can find a baker who will do it for you. And if you can’t, have a cheesecake bar! With a ton of choices!

julies1949 … you are a cruel person!

I would LOVE a wedding with cheesecake. Yes, some people don’t like it, but here’s a big secret… some people don’t like cake either (GASP)!

I hate cheesecake. It just happens to be one of those things people either love or hate. Plus, it gives a lot of people (especially with lactose intolerance) an upset stomach.

It’s just something to consider, that there are people who really don’t like cheesecake. I wouldn’t eat it but I also don’t have a major sweet tooth so I would be okay with it. If you had an assorted pastry/cookie platter in addition, I would be totally happy with just that.

We did this and LOVED IT!!  So did our guests. πŸ™‚

We did have about 100 dozen (literally…) cookies to supplement the cake if people didn’t like cheesecake.  They doubled as our favors and we got nice Chinese takeout boxes for people to take cookies home.
