I am having a relatively small wedding (60 people max) at a very unique and fantastic private venue. The reception will be in the courtyard of a hacienda style estate that needs no decoration. Aside from the linens and DIY centerpieces, we decided that the venue stands alone so I will not have any hanging floral arrangements, themed decor etc. Since we are doing everything ourselves, I really want to keep the cost of the “extras” at a minimum. Has anyone decided not to do wedding favors? If I did, I was thinking of putting personalized M&M’s in these little silver box chairs or having little jars of honey. Which is better? Are the M&M’s cheesy?

@pombridelv: little jars of honey. that is more unique IMO. I think M&M’s are just a little plain. If you add a poll, you might get more responses

I thought the favours would be cheese, and I was all like INVITE ME!! I’M #61!! M&M’s are fine, but I agree, they’re pretty run of the mill. Personally I don’t care about favours, but I’m sure others do.

We tecnhically are not doing favors, mostly because it’s an extra expense. However, my mom did decide that our place card holders (small picture holder actually) could double as a favor if anyone wanted one. I wasn’t going out of my way to make sure I had favors, but this did double duty without adding cost. I do think food favors are a good idea, people will actually eat them (not some little trinket sitting on a shelf or lost in a box). Honey is definintely more unique, go for they honey!

Like pp’s I thought it was cheese favours as well. Honey would be a nice gift though.
