- Wedding: August 2012
It’s never too early right? I have recieved word that my official engagement is this month so I’ve started getting the wedding planning thing going on.
I want a small family-only wedding, totaling at the very most 100 guests (although I would prefer 60-80 bcz I’m kinda shy). We live in South Texas, but have agreed to ghitt er done in my small town in Eastern Washington. Today I went to a venue on the outskirts of town (which is GOOD because in this small town, if ppl hear we are getting married I am certain that people will try to crash it “just because”… rude!), so it is a little out of the way, which I love.
Anyways, I love the grounds, the landscaping, the entire setup is quaint without cutting corners. SO it will hold my small wedding party perfectly, has a nice bridal room for little me, a kid’s room (yes!!) ,a full kitchen, includes the tables, nice chairs, food tables, sound system, bar setup. Then for an extra $300, the coordinator (who runs a side decorating/ coordinating business) will supply, set-up, and cleanup the decor to decorate the entire thing with my choice of fabrics, centerpieces (which I cringed at the thought of buying supplies/making and getting all stressed out), this will also include pillars and an arch for the ceremony.
While I was there we even talked about what I want for decor and she furnishes everything (saving a lot of stress on my end, esp because I live across the country). She was so polite, not at all pushy. She had both of my tentative dates available (we’re not certain of our date because of SO’s crazy work schedule/ fam flights from tx).
Ok, so…. The cost is $1000 for 3 days (fri- rehearsal dinner, sat- wedding, sun final cleanup), decorating/ coordinator cost (decor included) $300. (plus $100 for rented dance floor)
Plus, she even had a gorgeous wedding gown in my size there that her niece didn’t end up wearing. Tags still attached, but asking $400- including the tiara, veil, and crinoline slip.. WOW! It is a satin pickup with pretty embroidery/delicate beading on the bodice with little beaded accents on some of the pickups on the skirt. I wanna post a pic, but I haven’t uploaded them yet. Anyways, it needs some minor alteration in length and waist, but even still.
I really felt like it was my lucky day because I was thinking “it all depends on the venue and the dress”…and I walked into the venue, and may have found both!
So…bees, tell me what you think of this?
(sorry I think I should’ve posted this somwhere else…oops..I’m still getting used to this!)
