Anyone have advice to offer about getting a chemical peel?
Good experience or bad experiences, type of peel, results, etc.
Would you do it again?
I’ve just had my third microdermbrasion. Two diamontome treatments and one medical grade crystal treatment. I can’t say for sure which I like better, I like them both a great deal. But I think I am looking for something a little more hard core.
I have a few acne scars on my right cheek that drive me nuts. The FH says he loves me as I am, however, I live with this face and I want to feel good about it and not wonder if people are looking at the scars or looking at me.

I got the Clinique Turnaround 8 week system. I’d like to know of peoples’ experiences with these sort of things!
I saturated my cotton ball and slathered it all over my face and IT BURNS SO BAD wow. It was over after a minute or so though. Relief! My face didn’t get red or irritated. Tingling sensation my a$$!! haha. Then i put the calming cream on and my face felt so smooth, wow! Then my moisturizer, then bed…my face feels real soft today. I hope after 8 weeks (and $55 later) there’s a significant improvement

Mizuno, I do microderm combined with an alpha hydroxy peel. My skin peels for about 5 days afterward but I see an immediate difference in overall skin tone. I haven’t seen a lot of reduction in acne scars, but I’ve only had about 5 sessions over the last 8 months, so I don’t think I’ve been doing it long enough. However, I’ve been so happy with my skin that I care less about the scarring.

I understand your frustration with those darn scars. I have a couple on my cheek which aren’t necessarily very noticable to other people but I am definitely aware of it, especially in outdoor light. Two weeks ago, I had a glycolic peel and I immediately saw a difference in the eveness of my skintone and the overall texture of my skin- smooth, smooth, smooth. Try getting one to two glycolic peels from a trusted esthetician. Try Yelp.com and see who is ranked the highest in your area. Also, I am using Skinceuticals intensive line repair alpha hydroxy serum. It’s pricey at $55 a bottle but, again, I absolutely notice a difference in the texture of my skin, fine lines, and slight scars. After all, I want to to look as fabulous as possible for the Big Day! Good luck and let us know how you end up doing!

Kristasuzanne, Skincueticals is my favorite line, very favorite.I started using it a month ago and I am so much happier with it than I’ve ever been with anything else.
I actually use a Dermaspa at my old dermatolgists office, since I don’t battle acne I no longer see him, but I get mircoderm treatments and we talked about a peel every 3 weeks, but I wonder about something a little more intense.

If you’re going to do a chemical peel, make sure to do it months before the wedding. Because my boss ended up getting a gift certificate from a family friend and had it done a few weeks before the wedding and broke out to have a red face on the day of her wedding.

I know a person that had chemical peels. Definitely definitely don’t do it close to your wedding. Your skin may take a while to return to a "normal" color.

I just had a checmical peel earlier this week and my wedding is in early September. I’ve done the microdermabrasion as well. I can tell you how I feel currently after my 2nd day. My face feel nice and tight. Just recently have I started to peel. I have a few more facials (every 3 weeks) and a micro thrown in there before the wedding. I do recommend that you find someone that is recommended. I’m hoping my face is glowing and clear by wedding day. Good luck!
