I always have an 11 or 12 day luteal phases, it is never longer. Last month my luteal phase was 16 days long (I know this for sure because I know the exact day I ovulated).
I started spotting (light brown, light pink) on 9dpo and never stopped. I had an temperature dip on my chart on day 9 and then my temperature went back up.
At 16 dpo I had one day of medium bleeding and then about 6 more days of spotting. Since then I’ve stopped spotting and I’m on cycle day 14 of the next cycle (counting from the one day of medium bleeding). But since then I’ve had cramping pretty much every day and been really exhausted/emotional which isn’t normal for me.
Do you think it might be possible I had a chemical pregnancy? Is it normal to have that much spotting following this happening? For those of you who had a confirmed chemical pregnancy did you have ongoing cramping and fatigue/emotional feelings? Or maybe I didn’t have a chemical pregnancy, but I can’t think of anything else that would have happened because as far as I know luteal phases are very consistent in length? I’ve been charting for a year and I’ve never had one that long.

Have you peed on any sticks? Could you be pregnant now?

I peed on a stick at 10dpo… after I saw my temp pop back up after the dip I got all excited.
I think it was too early to poas though anyways so it was probably a waste of money haha. I was going to pee on a stick again (but wanted to wait until I thought I would be pregnant more for sure so I wouldn’t waste more sticks) but then I got the one day of medium bleeding and thought that meant I was out. So no, I haven’t poas recently

RedPandas: I would take another test just to be sure. I had what seemed like a medium flow for a day and spotting in the week leading up to my positive test. I think it would be best to just know for sure.

I agree – take another test to be sure and if you continue to bleed go and see your doctor.
I think I had a chemical pregnancy a couple of months ago… my period was 1 week late, I started getting terrible acne (I never EVER get acne), my brests were really hurting and I was feeling nauseous… And then I got a heavy period.. and was back to normal. So either a chemical pregnancy or an early miscarriage… no way to tell now. Oh well, better luck next time 🙂

Definitely test again. I’m guessing one day of medium bleeding and 6 days of spotting is not a normal period for you. I can’t count out a chemical pregnancy, but I would think you would have ended up having heavier bleeding (like a normal period or even a little heavier). It’s also totally possible to have quite a bit of spotting (and even heavier bleeding) at the beginning of pregnancy.

I’m going to vote with the test again camp too. What you’re describing doesn’t sound like my early mc/chemical at all. I just had no AF, positive test, and then a week later bleeding and cramping just like a normal period with tests that turned negative. None of the pregnancy symptoms that I’d had before stayed either.
I’d guess you’re either pregnant, or you’re just having one of those totally off-the-wall cycles that doesn’t seem to make any sense.

RedPandas: Hey! The fastest/most reliable way to confirm is to got to your doctor for a blood test. I was still getting positive hpt with all of my cp’s even after they were confirmed that my levels were going down. Sometimes it takes awhile for the hormones to leave your system. So you may just be wasting money/getting your hopes up by doing a hpt. I did have cramping/fatigue but everyone is so different, plus I have friends with the same symptoms that I had and they ended up having healthy pregnancies.
Good luck 🙂 FX for a sticky baby!

I haven’t had any bleeding now for a week or so since I’m on cycle day 15 now (I think.. id that one day of medium bleeding counts as day 1). So we will see what happens. I usually wouldn’t ovulate till day 20 or 21 anyways.

RedPandas: Aw, sorry to hear that. How frustrating. Hopefully this next cycle or two will be a little clearer and understandable so you can figure out what’s happening.
