Honestly, this is a total deal-breaker for me.

My cousin is 54-years old and has oral cancer from chewing tobacco. He’s on a feeding tube and his wife (a retired cop), had completely gone downhill since the diagnosis. They had plans to travel and see the world once she retired. Now she’s looking at losing her husband within the year.

mg8301 :  Not all unreasonable. My husband dipped when I met him. He knew it was a disgusting habit, but had done it since he was a teen and his friends all did it. When I first saw him do it, I was shocked and horrified. I told him it was awful and I didn’t approve. I also told him about my grandfather and how he died from a lifetime of smoking and all the patients with tongue and mouth cancer I’d seen and what I’d did to them. When we got more serious, I told him I wouldn’t marry someone who dipped. He quit. Cold turkey. We’ve been married for 2 years now, and he’s still clean.

I would insist he quit.
