Hello bees!!! This is my first post and I’m hoping for a lot of helpful imput! 🙂 I’m getting married May 29, 2011, and am having issues (literally – the most difficult wedding planning decision I’ve had) deciding what color chairs to use at my reception. I’m running out of time and have to make a decision!!
My reception is taking place in a beautiful, neutral/light marble room in a historical mansion. (the Patio at Archmere Academy – in Delaware if you want to google pics). My colors are taupe(champagne), light pink and ivory. Our table cloths are called “walnut bengaline” and they are a taupe color w/ a sheen to it (best way I can describe it!) and I’ll have flower arrangements on every table, some tall, some short, with light pink roses, ivory roses peonies, etc, ivory candles, silver picture frames with table numbers, you get the idea! We are definitely going with a Chiavari chair, but can NOT decide which color chair will look best.
The walnut color with an ivory cusion? The silver with an ivory cushion? The Ivory chair with an ivory cusion? Something completely different? Our overall vibe is romantic and elegant.
Please help!! 🙂

What a gorgeous venue!!! I think the walnut chairs would be lovely, and the white chairs would also look gorgeous. The walnut might just ground it all a little bit. Welcome to WB by the way 🙂

Since the room and linens are neutral, I’d go for the walnut with ivory cushion. To me the silver and ivory will just blend in. Those are beautiful chairs-I’d want them shown off!

Agreed with PPs – the walnut will stand out really nicely!

I would go with the walnut as well – silver seems like it would be out of place, and I think the ivory/ivory combo would be lost in the room. Walnut would just accentuate everything else and seem to fit naturally.

Walnut sounds like it’ll pop out more. Since everything else seems to be more of a neutral color, it may look nice for something to give it that contrast.
Ivory will give it that opposite effect. But it still may look nice. Just depends what you’re going after.
By the way, you’re venue sounds absolutely amazing!!
