I never though I would be one of those deciding over chairs, but here I am! We are getting married at a Manor House just ouside of Newport, RI. The dining room is somewhat separate from the ballroom (it opens up to it but after dinner, they close the doors). The venue has white wooden folding chairs that are in good condition, or I could rent chiavari chairs for about $800. Is it really worth it? Do people notice things like chairs?
I can’t save their pictures on the website, but this page of photos shows both types of chairs in the venue if you want to take a peak.

Thanks for your opinions! Sorry for such a silly question 🙂 I’m a little tempted to save the money and use it elsewhere!

Definitely save the money! I might say something different if the chairs were in really horrible condition, but I think the white chairs look really elegant.

White garden chairs are pretty! I have chivari chairs, and was debating renting natural wood garden chairs because I wanted a less gilded sort of feel, but then I thought – chairs? People sit on them, not stare at them. Those white chairs are really pretty and sweet looking! They fit your summer date and amazing location (I’m a little jealous…) 🙂

I think it depends on the overall feel of your wedding. Both are beautiful, but if you are going with a very formal affair, get the Chivari chairs, if its slightly less formal then go with the garden chairs.

chiavari chairs are so overrated.
my wedding had what looks like the white chairs in your picture. i loved the look of them, but my wedding was quite small and fun (casual).

Thanks so much everyone!! I think I’ll stick the the white chairs because they’re also really comfortable.
