Hey there! So I’m looking for a wedding photographer in the Chicago area that has a more photojournalistic approach and maybe some posed traditional shots (with a twist) but I really don’t want to pay a fortune! The only problem is… I’m a photography student (apiring wedding photographer) so I’m a little bit picky. Maybe not so much picky… but I know what I want. I’m looking for someone who can meet my needs without charging me an arm and a leg… Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks! 🙂

I’m using Jeremy Lawson- he’s awesome- but also expensive. I actually have a friend who is in photography school, interned with a wedding photography company, and is currently starting her own business. If you want any links to her work, PM me! 🙂

I’m a fellow photographer and Kara knows her stuff. She has been somewhat of a mentor to me and I know from talking to her that she really helps her brides and showcases all of them. She’s just so nice and has really helped me improve my work professionally!

My friend is a photographer, he has done a few weddings and has a few coming up, although he usually does creative portraiture work. He might have what you’re looking for; more spontaneous shots coupled with posings. Check out his website!

You can also look him up on facebook by searching “Photo Tsumi” ; it has more recent work.
When our day comes, he’s going to have the choice of being our photographer or one of my best men!

@AshleyR83: Cristina G is fantastic (from what I’ve seen), but unfortunately she is booked on our wedding day.
I also wanted to give a great recommendation to Miller + Miller Photography… we did our e-pics with them and they are fantastic!

Try Photos And Company. I went with them from my engagement photos, they were recommended to me from a good friend of mine. They were really accomodating and really sat with me to find a style and vision for the photos. They turned out great and were affordable! They are working on expanding their wedding section and told me they’d offer me a discount. They were too sweet! Wouldn’t hurt to ask them about it!
