Hello Bees! So after much himhawing, I think my Fiance and I are going to elope to Chicago. We only live a few hours away so we can do a weekend thing and use our vacation for a honeymoon in the near future. We already have our reception venue booked for next summer, so we’re keeping that to celebrate with our huge families. My questions to you are what are some good locations in the Chicago area to get married. I’ve been looking at Buckingham Fountain which is gorgeous at night. Do we need a permitt if it will just be us, two close friends, and the officiant? Do you have any recommendations for an officiant/wedding planner or any advice about eloping in Chicago in general?

I don’t know if you knew this but you can get married on Saturday mornings at the Chicago Cultural Center for $10. It’s beautiful there!

I think if I was going to get married anywhere outdoors on the lake front, it would be the big concrete steps outside the Shedd Aquarium. No clue about permits. I would visit the Chicago Public Parks website.

@AEMalmostK: Do you have a link for the 10 dollar wedding information?

It doesn’t say it’s $10, but that’s what I’ve always heard.
