I attended a wedding party there a couple years ago.  The bride and groom eloped in Mexico, and then several months later hosted a party for around 150 people in one of the large private rooms at Maggiano’s.  It was terrific.  It’s a convenient location downtown, the room was great and had a big dance floor, and the food was delicious as always.

I also attended an office holiday party there several years ago, also in one of the large private rooms, and it too was a big success.  Great food and service and a nice, comfortable space.

My one suggestion is that you’ll need some decor (flowers or other centerpieces, etc.) since the rooms themselves are pretty generic.  But at least they are classic and simple, so there’s no clashing decor to work around.

I’m not generally big on chain restaurants, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Magiannos. I would definitely be excited to attend a wedding that was catered by them!

@mayrenee16:  I’ve been to a reception at Maggiano’s at Old Orchard in Skokie, and it was seriously one of the best receptions I’ve ever been to.  The food was served family style and the dessert table was AMAZING.  I’m sure the downtown location would be just as good!
