Do you have a specific area you’d like to stay in?

You can rent out space in Tavern on the Park at Millennium Park.  My cousin had his rehearsal dinner there and it was fabulous.  That might be fun and give people a good Chicago feel!

Check out Volo, they’re awesome! Publican would also be really cool, or maybe Telegraph in Logan Square or Maude’s Liquor Bar in the West Loop?

Maybe you could rent out all of Avec.  It’s a small restaurant (same owners as Blackbird).  The food is insanely amazing.

@acee:  I second Volo! A friend got married there and it was fab. Plus, parking is easy in Roscoe Village!

I’m getting married in Chicago in December at The Tasting Room… it’s a wine tasting/restaurant. The food is scrumptious and affordable, plus the portions are large for what you pay. Their customer service so far has been great too.

Good Luck!

There are sooo many good places for eating here in Chicago.  Do you have an idea of what kind of food you want?

Off the top of my head, I’d consider:

Osteria Via Stato (a Lettuce Entertain You establishment downtown).

Fulton’s on the River

Uncommon Ground (watch out for Cubs games)

Sola (might be a bit small for your size group)

Volo as previously mentioned would be very nice

Also you may want to look at Maxim’s – you can bring in your own caterer here so that opens up your possibilities.

Many of these places we considered for either our wedding or for the rehearsal dinner.  Indoor / outdoor (aka Rain plan) options, as well as budget will be a big factor in your decision as well.  If places don’t have a private room that will accommodate your group, then you may have a price premium, in that they’ll need to make as much to rent the space to you as they would in a regular night of dining.

Good luck!

We went to Carnival for a viewing. It was FANTASTIC. You could have a great, rockin’ party there!

I’m from upstate NY, but Fiance and I were in Chicago last year for a work training for me, and we had an amazing restaurant at 312 Chicago, in the Loop on N. LaSalle.  Upstairs they have a 2nd dining room, which might work for a small reception.  www.312chicago.com
