Another one for maggianos! I had my reception there and it was cost efficient and beautiful! We were at the Naperville location and I cannot recommend it enough. The staff was very helpful and open to anything I wanted, including altering the decorations in the room, and my family always says it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding.

vmango:  Botanical gardens is gorgeous… but insanely expensive.  It was one of the first places I thought of when I got engaged, but the wedding would have been like 80k+ which is not even on the realm of realistic for me…. oh well

I haven’t look at their prices in a while, but what about Brookfield Zoo?

Try Carlisle Banquets in Lombard. It is beautiful. Drury Lane is beautiful as well. There’s another one but I can’t think of the name.. Let me google it..

I was afraid Brookfield Zoo might be pricey.  What about The Woman’s Club of Evanston?  They have a list of preferred vendors and they have a BYO liquor policy (which could definitely save you some money).  We’re looking at venues ourselves and are shocked at some of the prices.

When I was engaged previously we had the Abbington booked.  Very nice place, kind of your typical banquet setting but not cheezy at all and reasonably priced.

I don’t know anything about this place but I found something called The Grove Redfield Estate in Glenview.

I remember looking into White Pines Country Club in Bensenville.  If memory serves me, it was very reasonably priced.

Edit – the best way to keep your costs down is to cut your guest list.  Despite what your family thinks, you don’t have to invite your third cousin once removed that you only see once every 10 years.  We personally decided that we would rather have a smaller guest list and go with a more expensive venue.

We just had our wedding at Kemper Lakes Golf Club in Kildeer, IL It was a perfect setting and very reasonable price especially considering all the tables and linens are done through the venue. The venue is a 2-in-1 meaning the ceremony and reception can be all at one place. Hotels nearby offer shuttles to the venue, it really was a great price for what we got. If you have any other questions, just let me know.
