Hi guys need help with menu choices…So I already have most of it set, just need to figure out my chicken dish. The problem is that I have only a handful of people that cannot eat pork. And one of the chicken dishes has it included, but I do offer a Fish and a Vegetarian meal.
I’ve already got Filet Mignon, Grilled Salmon, and vegetarian dish (maybe lasagna). So if you werre a guest at a wedding craving a chicken dish which of the two below would you rather have offered?
should I get
Chicken Breast Roulade
Stuffed with Prosciutto, Spinach and Provolone, Served with a Wild Mushroom Sauce
OR
Chicken Francais
Chicken Breast Sautéed with Lemon, White Wine(this gets burned off), and Butter
Thanks ahead of time! your feedbacks help me out so much here on the board! 🙂

I would personally go with the Chicken Francais because I think this is an option that the majority of your guests enjoy. The Chicken Roulade sounds amazing to me but their are a lot of ingredient in there that not all of your guests may enjoy.

I voted Chicken Francais. The other option sounded very good, but a little too heavy.

I made sure our chicken dish had only chicken for a meat. Because I only eat chicken for meat. And sometimes its even to much meat for me! I have a few friends also only eat chicken.

I think the Roulade sounds better but there are so many picky (that’s right, I said picky) eaters with mushrooms and not everyone eats pork that will eat chicken so the other option is safer.

If those are your only options, the Chicken Francais sounds like it will be more of a crowd pleaser. The ingredients for the other are not liked by many people. Also, just because it is a wedding does not require you to serve fancy food. Most folks actually prefer food they are familiar with and will not touch fancy dishes simply for a special occasion, especially if it has any ingredients they don’t like or don’t know what they are. The same goes for dishes and ingredients they cannot pronounce.

If you’re trying to avoid a pork/chicken combination, then don’t get Chicken Roulade. Proscuitto *is* pork and then you’re back to the same problem. So if you’re trying to appeal to a chicken-eating non-pork eater, don’t get that one!
However, I do think it sounds more wedding-ish, only because it sounds fancy and not something I would normally cook at home. But yeah, if you’re trying to avoid pork, don’t get anything with proscuitto in it! (Proscuitto is Italian for ham).

I would personally love the Roulade, but I think the Francais might be better for a broader range of tastes and to avoid the pork problem.

I think the Roulade would be too limiting because of the proscuitto (cured ham)…

I think they both sound great, but if you are looking for a chicken dish for your guests go with the Francais. The Roulade has prosciutto which is pork so if people cant eat pork they wont be eating that chicken either.

Francais. The other is very polarizing because people either love or hate those ingredients.

The group is right that the Francais would please a wider group of people.. but I still voted for the Roulade.. it just sounded so delicious I couldn’t say no. That is DEF what I would order if I were choosing which to eat.

Chicken Francais. In my experience, when cooking for a big crowd, the fewer ingredients in a dish the better it tastes.
