MissKit Can you do a tasting of all three (chicken, fish, and beef) and then make a decision on whether to select the fish or beef to serve?

@MissKit:  Beef is a more common option than fish and more people like it. Fiance would be very disappointed if we went to a wedding and there was no red meat.

@MissKit:  i eat chicken mostly and not a lot of red meat, so i like to eat red meat when i go out.  i don’t eat fish.  if i was given the choice of chicken, meat, or fish, i would pick meat. but a lot of people like fish best when they go out.

we are serving beef and fish at my reception.

I prefer fish, but the majority would prefer beef I think.

I usually prefer fish but I think chicken or beef would be more popular.

I voted fish.  While some types of fish aren’t suited to being cooked en masse, salmon is pretty hard to screw up, and most people like it.

I never order beef at events because I like my steak still mooing, and it’s never cooked right even when asked for a temperature preference.

Since you said there is a vegetarian option, I would do chicken or beef.

If your Fiance definitely wants the chicken because he wants to eat it, you should pick the other option of which YOU’D prefer to eat. That’s what we are doing for our wedding. Fiance picked crab stuffed grouper (I hate fish- but that’s what he really wanted) and I picked the full cut filet mignon (becuase that’s what I WANT to eat). We will also have a vegetarian pasta option for those who would prefer neither.

I am going through this same struggle :/ we had our tasting and I am a big fan of fish but the chicken and filet were honestly SO much better.  I am really inclinded to just offer chicken or filet (and vegetarian also) but I am feeling like I HAVE to include a fish option.  This thread made me feel a bit better, but I still don’t know.
