I think as the price is quite similar to have 2 mains choices ($800 difference) I would do both the chicken and the beef, as some people may not eat chicken etc. Also you have plenty of food if someone wants vegetarian. The food sounds fantastic.

Option 3 – buffet with chicken, roast beef, and sides.  As a guest, unless it’s a very formal wedding I prefer a buffet because I like options and I like having some control over portion size.

@KimmySumShuga:  I just have to say that I love how all of your posts are always very organized and laid out with pictures and appropriate details. Very reader friendly. πŸ™‚ I voted for the buffet with chicken and beef because I’m not a chicken person, and while I would eat it if it was the only option, I prefer beef.

All of it looks good! I love your table settings! I voted for option two because I do think having two choices is better then one. I do think though chicken is a safe choice as most people like it and eat it even if they would prefer beef.

@KimmySumShuga:  I think roast beef served rare with horse radish sauce is a great option, it looks amazing and it is a high quality dish.  My Fiance loves horseradish and would definitly go for that option. I dont know what rubbed tri-tip is sorry, is it an American dish?  I am from New Zealand and havent heard of it before. I would choose roast beef though as it looks so tender!

ADD: Also I know a lot of people think most people eat chicken but I had food poisoning once on chicken and didnt eat it for 7 years lol, so it is always better to have 2 options when serving dinner for a group.

I think you should have a choice of entrees. So, I voted for the chicken & roast beef (no need to go overboard w/the tri-tip!).

i would prefer a plated meal, with the two meat option (ck and rbeef). Formal for me = plated. but u know ur crowd better.  Will the boat be docked during the buffet? or will it be cruising? some might find the movement too much to balance high heels, food and then the motion of the ocean (lol).

p.s the pic of the food is making me hungry!
