Are children of ALL ages counted as one guest? I was kind of wondering to myself if kids 3 and younger should actually count as a “full” guest because these adorable toddlers are kind of owning my guest list…

Normally you wouldn’t pay for guests under a certain age determined by the venue. For us 2 and under are free, children 2-12 are half price, and 13+ are full price.

This really isn’t an Etiquette Question per se…
It truly is a Venue Question. Every venue will have different rules in regards to how they count the Guests / Food Requirements / Options.
Some Venues there is only one food option… price per head no matter how old the Guest.
(Which is exactly WHY you see so many posts here on WBee by Brides who like yourself see their Guests Lists being over-run by children… and needing to find a better solution for their budget… which for many means limiting the number of children invited. By having a cut-off point by relation or age, or a full-on NO KIDS policy)
In other Venues there will be a price for Children… be that one for those under a certain age (ie say under 10 or 12) or a 2 layered one… (say also under 3 or 5).
When there are children pricing… it usually means that there is a Menu option for Children… be that a smaller portion of the meal being served… or a specific Child’s Menu.
You need to ask these Questions.
And YES once you start doing the math… Weddings quickly become very expensive… particularly so the Food & Drink aspects.
Hope this helps,
PS… As well, you’ll want to check on the status for Vendor Meals as well. Find out how your Venue Counts them (in your Guest List or seperately)… and is it the same meal, or do they have a specific meal option for Vendors.

Do children “count” for whom? If this is about your meal orders and seating I would ask your venue.
