you can tell its the change of the times…and Im glad for it!

one I dont see on there that I heard over and over again with my second marriage is ~ “how could you deny your husband children?”  Talk about being rude AND sexist all at the same time!

excuse me, but I think he was part of the equation, dont you think?

My favorite ones by far have been “but what will you do with your life if you don’t have children” and ” but you’re a woman, how can you not want kids?”

Um. I’m going to live my life without children and just because I’m a woman doesn’t mean I’ve ever felt maternal.

@montanamum:  Yes! I would NEVER be with a man who felt I owed him children. Screw that.

I’ve got most of these at some point. There’s no point arguing with most people though.

“Nothing is better than ‘new baby” smell?”

Yes. Yes, there is. PUPPY SMELL!

And yeah…I’ve gotten most of these too. My fav? “You’re getting to be “that age”. Really? Good. Then you’ll stop bugging.

At least my parents have accepted it.

Wow. Really? People actually say these things? I’ve never gotten any of them. Then again, I get equally rude things. We want to have children in the next few years, but we also have careers that keep us living abroad. And we will then too. However, right now we’re living in Afghanistan and people constantly say super rude things like:

“You’re not going to have children THERE, are you?” <– I just want to say “oh yeah, a war zone with one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the world? Good plan, sign me up!” Clearly, they think I’m an idiot or something.

My mom recently had a procedure done that required the ob/gyn to take out her mirena, so I asked her if it hurt. To which her face totally drops and she goes “You’re not thinking about having it taken out are you?”

Sure, we’re CBC now, but it’s insulting they assume that I shouldn’t have kids. lol

I’ve never wanted kids so I’ve had them all except the age thing. I’m 22. Oh, and not the ‘people like you should have kids!’ because I think most people knew from early on that no, people like me probably shouldn’t but the rest still applied, for some reason!

This made me LOL and I’m not CBC…but I’ve been given a few of these lines even when I say we want to wait a little (like, 3 years) after the wedding!

Ive gotten them all except O1 since I am a female and my husband has a brother anyway, and N2, BUT I have heard people say that online, just not to my face.

I’ve gotten literally every single one of these!  And I’m only 21, and I’m only made my decision to be childfree known to 5-6 people.  And yet, in the last year…I’ve gotten ALL of these several times in the last 6 months alone!  So rude lol.

All of these, the worst being that I will never be a “real” woman.

I was also told that I hate children, which is very offensive because I am a devoted aunt.

B3, N1, N2, G2, G4, O2, O3, O5!  Especially G4, since I’m an only child, on my mother’s side I only have 1 (younger, currently-single) cousin, and my grandmother has been bemoning her lack of great-grands for almost a decade.

I’ve gotten most of these already at age 19. I seriously dont have any maternal instinct, even though I love kids and am going to school to become an elementary teacher. I just don’t want to deal with them 24/7 For the rest of my life!

O3 is so not true. My mom has told me how painful it was more times than I can count.

No one has ever dared that “woman’s greatest achievement” one on me.  They know I’d rip their throat out with my teeth.
